1. Thanks Philou and all others for the kind words. This bass is as good as you would expect from a perfect Smith. The only reason to sell this that I mostly play my old Fender Jazz Basses as 4-stringers.
 2.
Hi. Have you sold this bass?
Yes, long gone to a fellow BC'er.
 3.
Maybe that's how factory specs slated them to be but there are so many fine examples of exceptions to that rule it kind of makes it a non-rule - if you know what I mean. Same goes for the comment about solid colours and mint green guards. On-paper factory spec says 'yes', real life exmples say 'no'.
May be. But as long as I don't have an evidence from the history of the particular bass I would assume a after-market customization. Always. Don't want to offense you, but imo these statements are too often used to legalize abstruse changes. Unless the first owner tells the whole story in person I don't trust in these exceptions. That does not mean that they don't exist but the vintage market is blown by fakes and Frankens so I believe it is good to have a certain amount of mistrust.... My 2c. This is a nice bass by the way and I have no problem with the nice colour - even if it might be not correct for an ash body. I am always tempted to drive to Rory and grab it when I look at this...
 4. Bass is still available, but I need 2000 Euro for it. I's too good to let it go for less...
 5.
Sexy bass. Almost tempted to part with my Fodera....
Do you refer to your Buckeye Monarch ? I have seen it for sale in May 11 - still yours ? May be interesting ....... how much cash are you asking on top of the Smith ?
 6.
I sold Rainer my BMT5 a few years back. He's a great guy to deal with, and these are superb basses! Rainer, anything in my signature you fancy?
Thanks for your kind words and same back to you Unfortunately nothing really tempting in your sig ...
 7.
Hi, Trade possible ?: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/164654-j...elic-vcunetto/ Cheers
Thanks for your offer too, but I already own 4 fantastic pre-CBS Jazz Basses - so I have in fact no need for the Relic, even if it looks great...;-)
 8.
wood and tronics chronos 5? bump for a beutiful bass.
Thanks ziggy - The W&Ts are AMAZING basses - nevertheless I sold exactly that model a few months ago because I never became comfortable with it's look...
 9. How did you find out that it's an ASH body ? If that's true, it MUST have been originally a See-Through Blonde finish - no exception ... A view into the neck pocket could be of some help...
 10. Still available. GBP value is currently good for UK buyers. Asking 1.700 GBP or best offer ... limited until the GBP decreases again.
 11. A bunch of trade offers, but none of them tempting enough. Still available. Current GBP 2 Euro ratio is good for UK buyers ...;-)... Asking 3.100 GBP or best offer.
 12.
I've never been a fan of the aesthetics of the Smith basses but your pics seem to have brought out the best in the bass, it looks really slim; do you have an accurate weight?
Thanks for all your kind comments This bass weighs 4kg on my digital bathroom scale. It feels very comfortable on the strap.
 13. FS in Germany: Ken Smith BMT Elite 4 1995, all-original, and in MINT condition !!! Specs:

Highly Flamed Maple Top & Back
Mahogany body core
7pc body wings
7pc neck
Rosewood Board (or Pau Ferro ?)
Active BMT Preamp with Bass, Mid, Treble, Volume, Balance
Passive mode with Push-Pull-Volume-Pot
Satin Finish
34' scale
Hardcase - not original
This particular model has been built during the years 1993 and 1997 and is quite similar to the today's top model - the Fusion Elite 25th Anniversary. The BMT does not have the parallel/serial switches and misses some of the aesthetical goodies like Abalone dots, but it is structurally the same. BMT necks have been treated in a special way, which is not offered as a standard anymore by KS. The neck runs through the body in full thickness, today's Smith necks must get a tone block added to match the body thickness. BMT necks are much thinner than the modern ones and they play unbelievable fast. The fretwork is perfect and the action so low without buzzes that the string is just before laying flat on the frets. The frets are in nearly unplayed condition. BMT necks had been stored and dried for several years before being used for a new bass. The sound has the typical Smith-Click in the upper registers with a strong medium range, cutting through EVERY mix. I don't know how much BMTs had been built through the 5 years. It is mentioned somewhere in the Web that it should be not more than 130-140 basses. And there were much less 4-stringers than 5- or 6-ers. So this is a very rare opportunity to get one - in perfect state. Smith lovers know that this model is one of the best (or probably IS the best) Smith models ever built. The bass has ZERO dings and scratches, nothing ! I'm asking 3.300 Euro for it plus shipping. Bass is located in Duesseldorf, Germany. No trades., ... Pics on request:
 14. Hi guys ! Sorry - I totally missed the change in the email notification system. Previously I received an alert when a new message came in. So I was waiting for news but nothing appeared... All PMs will be replied in a few minutes... Thanks for your attention !
 15.
trade . gibson les paul standard bass .2007, mint condision .plus 1000 euro.pics on mail. best regards .cera.
Thanks for your offer but to be honest Les Paul basses are not my cup of tea... So still available
 16. Selling my beautiful Electro-Acoustical Takamine B10. It is the model with the DSP Preamp - without Tube. The bass looks great and is in MINT condition. Bass is located in Duesseldorf/Germany. Soundwise it is somewhere between fretless and double bass, with a unique timbre and feeling. It is playable like a guitar as well like an upright (with a spike installed). The string height is more towards a double bass and needs professional woodwork to be lowered, but it would be possible of course. You can hear some good examples at u-tube. The DSP preamp features an EQ and reverb (!!) with different characteristics - and programmable presets for all settings. That's an absolute killer thing ! Body: Jumbo with Cutaway Top: Sitka Spruce, arched Back and Sides: Flamed Sycamore Board: Ebony (with nice grain and thick !!) Preamp: DSP Finish: Antique Nutmeg Satin Scale 34' Without any position markers Included: Special Takamine Hardcase Adjustable and rempvable spike, so that it can be used as an upright bass One set brandnew Pyramid Gold Acoustic Bass Strings Tools and Candy Gift for local pick-ups: Adjustable double bass stand, which holds the bass securely even with the spike mounted Sold and shipped Pics here: http://www.mrbassman...akamine_b10.htm

 19. Just decided to part with my pre-Ernie Ball MusicMan Sabre Bass. It is from 1979, in 100% original state and very good condition, even the string mutes on the bridge are still there. The bass comes with the uber-rare original MusicMan Teardrop case. This model is the funky version of the StingRay, providing more versatility and a huge bass with its 2nd pickup. Read the enthusiastic review in the German "Gitarre&Bass" magazine from Sep 2011. Serial number, body and neck dates as well as pot codes are correct for 1979. More pics, detailed views, infos on request - shoot me a pm or email. Bass is sold. Thanks for looking.
