  1. Miffed with Alesis...

Got my Son a Second Hand Alesis Nitro Mesh eDrum Kit

After a few months of enthusiastic playing the Snare failed... Broken wire on the Piezo... Real fragile, brittle almost glass like wire and insulation.

Re-soldered several times until both wire failed...

Contacted Alesis about getting a replacement Piezo, or the Spec.

Nope... Can't help and recommend i replace the whole Snare 'Pad' at £57 + vat + £6 p&p...

Needless to say, at £75ish he has no snare at the mo...

EDIT: Alesis are sorting me a B Stock Unit at £35 all in... Happy-ish with that, hopefully comes with G'tee..

  2. Pics please...

#1 If Tort plate change it 😉

    #2 Your Strings?

#3 What sort of Sound/Tone ya after - Vintage Warm / Clean and Articulate / Loads of GO?

    #4 Budget

Funk plate from Aliexpress - under a tenner...

Pickups, Kent Armstrong £60ish, Tonerider £40ish and an aftermarket 'go to', Wilkinson £25ish...

If ya more Loads of GO maybe an Entwistle PBXN 'Neo' or a SD Quarter Pounder...

Check the FS section on here...

But, these are changes, not always improvements - apart from swapping a tort plate - Clean-up, New Strings and some time setting it up yourself... would be the place to start.

    Enjoy and pics please...

Will update for sure. My E, A and D are absolutely perfect, just the G but it also has these weird overtones/harmonics on certain notes on the G. Mine also feels like there's something absorbing or countering the energy in the string on certain notes. Either way, I'll update as well when I know.

Overtones, Chorusing? Maybe pickup Height, High Mag Field stifeling the G string... other strings with higher mass are less susceptible.

Try dropping the pickup way-down on the G side? - count the turns so you can put it back...

  4. Deadspots n stuff... not a lot to do

Other stuff that may be more pronounced at a given freq?

Check all Neck/Body Screws (Slacken and Tighten with a bit of string tension is OK, may help to Seat the neck to the back of the pocket) Bridge Mounting Screws, Tuner Mounting Screws and Tuner Peg Screws and String Retainers..

    Just a nice Nip-Up

Twisted String, Witness Points at Bridge and Nut?

Maybe try a Rizla paper in the nut slot  and/or Bridge Saddle?

  5. Got a Joyo and a Guitar Man version, (albeit slightly different...)

    Cockroach-Like Construction.

Easy use... Does this have the choice of Stobe/Led and a 9v out as well? - Mine Powers my Behringer Beadyeye, even from a single battery and Mute-When-On.

  6. Dunno what they should look like, but looks like they fit, or have been modded to fit ala Strat - Secured on the underside of the pick guard, with 2 screws thru for hight adjust, rather than screwed to the body ala P or J.

Maybe the silicone and plate was to try and hold the windings in the covers, rather than foam under

Must admit i was surprised when i realised that P pups were not fitted like a Strat, as that is what i came across first.

  7. Expensive, albeit a very nice Parts-Bin Special.

The Options and Build Guide makes interesting reading.

I'm sure @Andyjr1515 could custom veneer a J body... I likes Quilted... then Fender Hi Mass Bridge, Bell Plate, Tone Riders or Kent Armstrongs - I'd go PJ 😉
