  1. If you run a length of tape up each side of the neck along the fretboard edge, [First, before the across pieces...] you can then peel the across fret bits of tape off in a one-er...

I use one of those thin metal fret shields.

  2. I have a EHX Headphone Amp... more durable than those VoxAmp plug things, it works well after pedals etc. But is very sterile as no cab sim etc.

Artec used to do an On-Board headphone amp, but again sound like an instrument, not an instrument into an amp, cab, in a room.

Zoom B1 on or B1 Four - They can be as Complicated as ya like, Simple Quality Best Solution.

  3. Had a play with a B2 a while back

Well worth replacing the 3 plastic washers on the tuner screws with a F4-10M Thrust Bearing (4 for about £5) for smoother tuning.

Mine is wired Single Vol after a 3 Way Pup Selector.

  4. Ease the neck Up and Out Vertical...

That way you can check for a shim,

Plus the neck pocket / neck is a taper, and you don't / won't want to be Sliding it Horizontal.

Blow out the body and neck holes, often a bit of breakthru at the neck hole, i always like a hint of countersink and a wipe of cangle wax or hard hand soap on the threads for reassembly to stop any snagging.

Nip up! they are Wood Screws not Machine Bolts.

Individual string bridges - I can understand their use on fanned fret basses, but they just look wrong when the frets aren't fanned. And even the most skilled luthier can't seem to make them line up properly:

    Don't like em

And i don't think they should line up... would half the point of single saddles be to place them to follow the string run, Same as to the pegs past the nut.
