….. clearly you weren’t there in WHU ‘s first year then…..! Plenty of “frank discussions” over that very thing. PS Doobies at the O2 on Saturday night! V accomplished but the audio balance wasn’t right, at least where we were

Thanks both, yes I had some fun fitting a drop tuner which was supposed to be a drop in on my P bass.... I sorted it all out but a bit of a pain @pst62 - I'll let you know soon - got to pay a builder /decorator first!

yeah a white n black is on my wishlist, I like the black hardware too but at the time you couldn't get a chrome one and just wanted that look 🙂

I have one of these, it's great. Managed to get the PUs out of the plastic covers and fit chrome covers 🙂

so, hot on the heels on the other thread around Tbirds, I was just about to ask a similar question... Does anyone know if it is possible to put a Hipshot drop tuner / extender onto the HB 75MN Jazz neck that I have on my seriously modded HB PB 20 bass, and if so which one? I emailed Thomann and they wouldn't commit! Based on this Harley Benton Parts JBass Tuners Set Chrome – Thomann (Shaft Ø: 13.9mm Impact sleeve / bushing for the head plate requires bore Ø 18.3 mm) I think that it might be these Hipshot H20800C BT8 D-Tuner CR – (Axle diameter: 13.86 mm) or Hipshot H 21200 C BT 12 D Tuner CR – (Axle diameter: 13.86 mm) or even (prob not) a BT-7D but would appreciate any advice please if possible Many thanks for your collective wisdom / experience, and yes I know that the tuner is worth so much relative to the bass but it also has SD pickups and a new bridge too, so may as well go for it 🙂

Thanks both that's very kind and really helpful Best wishes -
Dear All Just wondered if you can help, no luck on the general internet.... We are excited to be going to see Pretenders for the n th time in many years later this week, and i was looking on YouTube and saw a video of a recent UK gig where Nick Wilkinson is playing what looks a bit like a blacktop fender except it's red with a black plate and has four knobs and I think two switches . Just wondered if any of you experts knew what it was please? I don't think that the vids are necessarily supposed to be there given copyright etc so I am not linking here Thanks v much 🙂

agreed - love mine 🙂

Start with a pb20, then add some quarter pounders, perhaps a high mass bridge and/or new tuners when one fails, or a second hand HB jazz neck?
