Post a pic of your Bass god from your teen years

Happy to help, here is your bass number 88 😁

Yes, the finish looks stunning and much better in person than on the photos I took with my cheap phone. Solid maple wings are getting rare and expensive too. The Bass Gallery is currently selling a used 2017 NS-2 with solid maple wings in an amber finish for £6,000.00! Well, maybe I should reconsider my pricing as the pickups I put on turned the NS-4 (DCs) into a NS-2 (PJ)! https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/ns2

There is also a retailer in Germany, selling a Euro Classic Aged 80s. I am not a fan of relic'd basses but YMMV: https://www.station-musicshop.de/epages/64398533.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/64398533/Products/6770-6814

Quick update. Played the GK today for an hour. No issues. Recorded two quick samples with the contour button engaged and disengaged. I also attach the EQ settings. Still keep the low price as I cannot promise that the problems I had during the heatwave may not come back (during the next heatwave, for example). So, maybe only play it on cold days to be on the safe side? 😉 V_20240427_153859_ES3.mp4 V_20240427_153756_ES3.mp4

I am selling the GK MB112-II 200-watt power amp with ceramic 12" speaker. I bought it in spring 2018 and only used it for home practice. As you can see from the photos, the chassis is in very good condition. However, during the heatwave of 2022, I noticed some crackling noises, a bit like old vinyl records, difficult to describe. I decided not to get it checked over, but bought a bigger amp, the 500w Eich BC112 Pro, instead (as bigger is always better ; -). Since then, the GK was in our loft as a backup, but after our recent renovation project, we need the space and I have to sell it. I tried it out today and it sounded ok, maybe a very slight distortion-ish sound when playing lower notes. Maybe it is a small issue, maybe not, that's why I think that my asking price is fair as you can use the combo for home practice all day long. The last one sold here on BC went for £300, new they cost £649 (https://www.andertons.co.uk/gallien-krueger/gallien-krueger-mb-112-bass-combo-303-0591-b) and there is a used one on Reverb for £599(!). Collection only, although I will have to travel to Leeds in late May to buy more tiles for the next stage of our house renovation project (and probably have to sell some more stuff for that too ; -) Product Specs: MB112-II Combo The MB112-II is one of the smaller amps in Gallien-Krueger's MB Series II range, but it still packs a serious punch! With a 200-watt power amp and ceramic 12" speaker, the MB112-II is a killer companion for the gigging musician used to performing in small/medium-sized venues. It's great for practice too, with its auxiliary input and headphone output letting you jam along to your favourite tracks in silence. Key Features - 4-Band Active EQ — Derives from GK's legendary 800RB amp. Provides extensive tone-shaping potential so that you can find the sonic sweet-spot, especially with the 'Hi Mid' and 'Lo Mid' knobs. - Contour Control — Completely re-voices the amplifier by tuning between two different shaping circuits, with greatly different responses. When the the control is engaged, the low-end is slightly boosted, the mids are scooped, and the high-end is pushed up; great for slap! - Variable Q — Another feature inherited from the 800RB. This unique design varies the EQ bandwidth to retain a musical response even at extreme settings. In other words, it's hard to make the MB112-II sound bad! - USA-Designed Speaker — The special ceramic driver with 2.5" edge wound aluminium voice coil, designed just for this cabinet, is manufactured in the GK USA factory. - Lightweight Design — Plywood construction, aluminium chassis, switch mode power supply and power amp deliver 200W performance in a rugged 30lb (13.6kg) package. - Contemporary Connectivity — Balanced DI with pre/post switch, aux in and headphone output for silent practice, plus "chain out" to drive GK's MBP powered enclosures (pair with the 112 MBP). - Switch Mode Power — Extremely lightweight switch mode power supply and power amp deliver 200W into the speaker with very little wasted heat dissipation. - Critically Damped — The amp's port is specifically tuned for optimum performance, coupled with a particular jute blend of damping material that provides the right amount of damping at certain frequencies. - Smart Protection Circuitry — Constantly monitors for unsafe operating conditions such as short circuits, mis-wired speaker cables, blown speakers, improper ventilation, and incorrect speaker configurations. I am selling my Darkglass Alpha Omicron pedal. Bought it here on BC last summer and I am only asking for what I paid for). I only used it occasionally at home and it is in very good condition. The pedal is currently stored safely in a box (not the original DG box) in a pet and smoke free house. UK shipping only (sorry!) and shipping costs are included. From the Darkglass website (https://www.darkglass.com/creation/alpha-omicron/) The beginning and the end. With the double distortion engine (Alpha and Omega), the Alpha·Omicron delivers unparalleled versatility, harmonic rich and bone-crushing sound. Designed for bassists in need of a preamplifier to be distinctively heard in any musical context. Specs Blend Mixes the clean and processed signals. The clean signal remains at unity gain while the volume of the overdriven signal is set by the Level knob, allowing for fine mix tuning. Level Sets the volume of the overdriven signal. Drive Sets the amount of gain in the overdriven signal. Mod Selects or mixes between the two distinct distortion circuits: Alpha is punchy, tight with a lot of definition, whereas Omega is simply brutal and raw. Bite Boosts High Mids (2.8kHz) for additional presence and definition. Growl Shelving Bass Boost for a fatter tone and increased low end saturation. Output Connect from the ¼” Output jack to the input of your amplifier or another effects pedal. Input Connect your instrument or output from your pedal board to the ¼” mono jack. 9V DC Only use a regulated 9V DC adapter with a center-negative plug. Dimensions Width: 75 mm / 3″ Length: 111 mm/ 4¼″ Height: 43 mm / 1¾″ Weight: 250 g / 0.55 lb Warning The Alpha·Omicron has a current draw of 20mA. Only use a regulated 9V DC adapter with a center-negative plug. Unregulated power supplies and/or higher voltages may result in suboptimal noise performance and even damage your unit, voiding the warranty

The 35P4 is a reverse P, so it should sound very close to the P pickup on the NS-2. The preamp is a Haz 18V instead of the 9V on the NS-2. Not sure how much different the two preamps sound, to be honest. I do not have a NS-2 to compare it with, but I am pretty confident they will be in the same ballpark.

I am selling this beautiful late 2006 Spector NS-4 with stunning looking solid quilted maple body wings, powerful active EMG pickups, the US Haz 18V preamp and gorgeous abalone crowns. I bought it in summer last year as my DOB (date of birth) bass. However, due to some higher than expected house renovation bills, I have to already sell it, which is a real shame. The bass is in showroom condition as the previous owner, who bought it from Sound Control in Glasgow, kept it in storage for all those years (he joined a band as their drummer instead). New, a US Spector NS-4 with the exact same specs costs $6,249.99 (according to a Spector bass configurator on a US retailer website). There are also two used NS-4s on Reverb for £4089 (no solid wings, only maple top) and £3699, so I think I am asking for a very fair price. During its short time with me, the bass has never left the house (very limited home use only). The bass is also not too heavy (for a bass with solid maple wings), weighing 9.5lb/4.3kg. I put EMG 35P4 and 35J pickups on the bass, but the original DCs will come with the bass of course. Finally, both the battery box as well as the cavity cover are recessed, which gives it a nice look. The bass is currently stored safely in its original case in a pet and smoke free house. Collection would be recommended but I can also ship it (UK only, sorry!) using a decent courier. Shipping would of course add some costs.
