Yes, I think we're due for one of their irregular nods to the fact that bassists exist...
Ups, just realised that I had posted in the wrong thread. Must have been the heat 😉 Thought this was the thread discussing the new Gibson Rex Brown signature Tbird bass. I am very sorry for accidentally hijacking this thread and yes, this vintage Gibson looks amazing. Congrats 👍

Let's see what Gibson releases for the 60th anniversary of the T'bird next year . Hope it is better than what they came up with for the 50th though 😞
-
Well, it has gold hardware instead of the usual chrome or black, it has Hipshot tuners and bridge, instead of the often criticized 3 point bridge, it has newly developed active pickups that can be put into passive mode (via push/pull switch), it has a drop D tuner and a slimmer neck. What else would you have liked to see in a new T-bird?

Quite like me then (apart from the slab front)
So you have a belly chamfer on your back? Sounds awful. Sorry to hear that 😉

Man, there is so much I could say (or, more accurately, type) about this bass but it is already too hot so, in short: WOW 😍

Just to clarify. It is the Ian Hill neck shape (1.64 nut).
The info on the webpage is a poor cut and paste by Bass Direct
Well, no @ceteraneck shape then 😞
However, the Xs having the Ian Hill neck shape means that I am tempted now 🙂
Do the Xs have any body/arm contours or are they slab bodies (like e.g. the new Gibson Rex Brown sig Tbird shown below)?

Not me. Entirely down to @cetera.
Ok, so it is then the cetera neck shape. Sounds good to me 🙂

It’s a custom run with those specs. May not be for everyone, but a shallower neck with a 1.5” nut is spot on for me 👍
Interesting, so it is something totally new, an Ian Hill/Doug Wimbish neck shape mix. Did you come up with it? If yes, then they should call it the hiriam.k.hackenbacker neck shape 🙂

The Spector Euro X is now available for pre-order @ Bass Direct.
This model was a custom order instigated by our very own @cetera and is a Limited Edition (18 pieces).
At least 50% of the 18 are already spoken for, so if you're interested, you know who to ring.
Here is the spec:
•Body: Maple - Refined X shape
•Top: Genuine Figured Maple
•Neck: Maple
•Nut: 1.5” - Ian Hill shape neck
•Fingerboard: Rosewood
•Headstock - Black
•Inlays - MOP Spector Crown
•Frets: 24
•Scale Length: 34”
•Radius: 16”
•Hardware Colour: Gold
•Bridge: Spector Locking Die-Cast
•Active Tone Controls: Spector TonePump
•Controls: Bridge Volume, Balance , Treble Boost, Bass Boost
•Pickups: EMG P.J
•Easy access battery compartment
Finishes:
Ultra Violet - £2499
Tobaccoburst - £2499
Gloss Black - £2350
Gloss White - £2350
Available Summer 2023
Sounds very tempting, esp. the gloss black or white finish (classic Spector colours)
•Nut: 1.5” - Ian Hill shape neck
Sounds confusing. The Ian Hill neck shape is my fav due to the neck being a bit less chunky (front to back) but the nut width is 1.64'', not 1.5''.
1.5'' is the Doug Wimbish neck shape.

Selling my T-Rex Bass Juice distortion pedal. Bought it many years ago but only used it from time-to-time at home (no gigging).
The pedal comes with a “bomb-proof” aluminium housing and is in pristine condition. Ships with the original box and manual.
Happy to ship within the UK for an additional £6 (decent courier).
Here are some details about the pedal taken from the T-Rex website:
“DISTORTION PEDAL FOR BASS PLAYERS!
T-Rex Bass Juice offers organic distortion specially designed for bass.
In normal mode (boost function off) it delivers awesome sustain with rich creamy overtones and big bottom.
Engage the boost function and you are in fuzztone heaven!
The mix knob let's you blend just the right amount of distortion with your original clear tone.
Remember that Jamiroquai sound, where it sounds like the bass kicks the paper of the speakers. The Bass Juice can do that - and many other things.
REDISCOVER THE JOYS OF ADDING JUICE TO YOUR SOUND

Selling my Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver DI. Bought it two years ago and only used it from time-to-time at home (no gigging). The pedal is in pristine condition and comes with the original tin box, manual, warranty card and sticker.
Happy to ship within the UK for an additional £6 (decent courier).
Here are some details about the pedal taken from Tech 21’s website:
“Much more than just a direct box, the SansAmp Bass Driver DI is capable of dialing up big vintage tube tones, bright modern slap sounds, gnarly distortions, and all in between. Three different outputs to drive power amps, recording desks, PA mixers, or simply enhance your current rig. Controls include Presence for definition and upper harmonic content; Blend to combine the proportion of direct signal and SansAmp circuitry; and active EQ specifically tuned for bass with 12dB of cut or boost.
VERSION 2
With the popularity of 5- and 6-string basses going beyond fad status and becoming mainstream, we added a switch to adjust the bass frequency to extend into those lower registers. We also added a mid-range control and a switch to adjust its frequency. The core of the SansAmp Bass Driver and all of its tones remain true to its original design.”

Technically its 12 o, clock in tons of country,s now 😁
True, but only midnight here in the UK matters. However, technically, I would need to wait until 5am (midnight on the US East Coast) or 8am (midnight on the US west coast) but won't do that. I guess I will change the price already now so I can go to sleep. Have to get up early 🙂

22 = 2022. 4 = 4th day. 7 = 7th month.
Ok. In the US, it would be 2274 though (month first, then day). Well, both are wrong anyway 🤪

£2247?
How do you arrive at that number?

Important customer announcement: I have several relatives in the US and tomorrow they are celebrating Independence Day (i.e., celebrating America's declaring of independence from Great Britain, not celebrating the movie :- ). Well, I thought that's a good occasion for a special one-day only flash sale for a US made bass. So, from midnight today until 11:59pm tomorrow, there will be a significant price reduction (and looking at the new price you can then guess why I chose that specific price :- ). After that, the price will go back to £2799. Even if I come up up with some future flash sales, none will be anywhere near as big as this one!
So, it's really now (well, soon) or never 😎

You are probably right. However, this year, so far, I have bought five basses and sold 9 (plus one on sale), so, technically, I am still at -4 (-5) 😉
