It’s not that important to clarify the colour but it is Blizzard Pearl

    Cheers

There was indeed an American Standard P bass in the Blizzard Pearl Colour but it is not yours. Yours is an American Series P bass from 2005 in chrome silver.

You can use Fender's own serial number look up service (https://serialnumberlookup.fender.com/lookup/) and the serial number that can be seen in your 7th photo.

  2. That looks bad indeed. When we discussed the Gene Simmons T'bird a while ago (that also had some poor finish), I suggested that Gibson should call its finish "proto-relic".  In this way they could make it an official feature and charge even more money 😉

Correction on this - the Tim C signature was four models, two with active electronics (a long and a short scale) and two with passive electronics, series/parallel/single coil selection, passive tone control and cut/boost (a long and a short scale) - all the models have the retractable ramp and through body stringing with mute assembly. There were fifty of each made.

I have a passive long scale from the series (that variant sold out within two or three days) it is natural ash with an ebony board - it’s sufficiently different from any other Stingray available, and also sounds great - it’s also very light (8 lbs).

The Timmy C signature basses are truly special. I also have the long scale and passive version. Killer bass. How many passive Stingrays are out there? Further, the natural one has black hardware. Again, how many natural stingrays with black hardware are out there? So, passive SR, natural/black combo, height adjustable finger ramp, strings-thru bridge with mutes and old school logo (ok, only a little thing, but every little helps, right? ; -) - quite a lot of features for a signature bass.

Check the address on the "contact" page.

Cool stuff. Looks like they are now also catering for customers who speak Latin:

It translates to: "The customer is very happy. He will pursue the education of the student, but this will happen at the same time as with some great labour and pain."

Hmm, not exactly sure what that means though 🥴

Yeah. There was chrome red too…

did a chrome blue on the strats that year but never the basses - real shame as it was gorgeous.

    This is a beauty

Yes, I have a Chrome Red from 2004. Great colour.

The colour of the bass here is indeed called "Chrome Silver". The bass is actually from 01/2005 and an American Series (2003-2008, Am Standard came before and after) bass. The body wood is alder and it has a lovely satin neck.

All the info (and much more) can be found here:

    Zender - Jamiroquai

    Myung - Dream Theater

Levin - just about everybody! Most famous probably for Peter Gabriel or King Crimson

Commerford - Rage Against the Machine AND Audioslave

Sorry, had to set the record (pun intended) straight 😉

to hear it being underwhelming in a live mix. Mystifying.

You have to give Vulfpeck credit for being great entertainers. Cool show (pun intended). Not sure about the hats though. Reminded me of...

Phil has been touring, playing only Pantera tunes, for the last couple of years. Using the big name gets them off mid-afternoon festival slots to headliner status and with lots more cash money in the bank. Rex wouldn't have his signature bass if it was "Phil, Rex & Chums". The respective Abbot estates have seen the numbers and nodded solemnly in approval.

Many cans will be crushed against foreheads next year.

I agree, I can see the business case for touring as Pantera. Well, let's see how many people want to see half-Pantera next year. I won't be one of them.

Not that I'd be in the market for one, that ship sailed a few years back and I have a Euro-X coming

one of the Bass Direct ones coming in 2023? They look tasty indeed, especially the ultra violet one. Definitely on my watch list 😍

  11. I had the great pleasure of selling my Tech 21 SansAmp BI pedal to Geoff. Super smooth and easy transaction. Quick and friendly communication, together with fast payment. Cannot get any better. Thumbs up 👍

Is there anything particularly wrong with the 50th anniversary T-bird?

I tried one once, maybe four years ago, and it was nice enough to buy.

Didn't have the money for it, though, even though the price was right.

Probably nothing wrong with it but nothing special about it either (apart from the gold finish, which I am not a big fan of). The RB has some cool features and I hope to get to try one out some day. I hope the 60th anniversary model comes with some cool features (maybe a Tbird II model, maybe short scale, maybe active/passive pickup(s) like the RB?) and in white (appropriate colour for celebrating a 60th anniversary anyway). I just want to see something special and not just a different finish.

    Ahhh, now it makes sense...

"The surviving member of Pantera, vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown, will tour as Pantera in 2023. It is unknown who would play on guitar and drums to replace Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. Dimebag was murdered onstage with Damageplan in 2004 and Paul died in 2018.

They have signed with Artist Group International to book their North American dates. Dennis Arfa and Peter Pappalardo will be the responsible agents.

“We are thrilled to be working with such an iconic band and bringing their music back to the fans,” said Pappalardo."

    Shamtera?

Man, I am a huge Pantera fanboy but Pantera without Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul? Don't think so.

Maybe they join as holographic virtual avatars, like the Abbatars in ABBA Voyage. As Rex and Phil are still with us, it could be a hybrid or semi-holographic tour. That could be interesting.
