  1. Thomastick-Infeld flatwound strings, nearly new. Clipped, crimped to keep the core from slipping, and installed the A and D strings, changed my mind, took them back off again. Free postage included.
  2. Amp DI, multiple cab sim and IR loader - and, as the previous owner updated the firmware to the same as the M+, a stunning clean preamp (inspired by an all original ’74 Silverface B’man), refined power amps, enhancer, tuner, expanded reverbs and noise gate. I have been using it as a headphone amp, a job it does superbly. In excellent condition with original box and an additional Two Notes grounded power supply. UK postage included. Images to follow.

  4. I bought a lovely Squier CV 60s Precision in fiesta red from Ander. Superb comms throughout the transaction. He met me halfway in Birmingham to hand over the bass in person. The instrument is in excellent condition with a great set up. Highly recommended. Cheers!
  5. I know that feeling! Annnnd back in the case it goes... 😅
  6. A chance to be the latest beneficiary of my compressor odyssey! Bought a few weeks ago on here, but I am so fickle when it comes to comps. The Compressore has a smooth action and is very quiet, with some nice harmonics at higher gain levels. Unlike other tube compressors the Markbass Compressore is notable for using the tube (an ECC81, I believe) not just as a gain stage but for actually performing the compression. Comes with original proprietary power supply. Original but 'road worn' box also included. Velcro on bottom. Asking just what I paid for it, with free next day postage if needed.
  7. Aged 15, at the secondary school 'Valentine's Ball'. Played a set of covers including Nirvana, Hole, and Sex Pistols to an audience of our nonplussed peers. I played a low slung Maya fretless that belonged to my dad. Nowadays I'd be at least a bit nervous about doing a gig on fretless, but not then - definitely in the 'unconscious incompetence' phase! 😅
  8. Not a high end bass (and really I've only ever owned one of those) but I miss the Fender Modern Player Short Scale Jazz Bass I sold about 18 months ago. They are somewhat rare, and it would have suited the band I play in. I never even gigged with it! A good looker too.
  9. It's a splendid colour! Only problem is that it would make it that much more difficult to sneak it home without the other half noticing a new bass! "This old thing?" 😅
  10. Bought a Markbass Compressore from Simon, after he answered my Items Wanted ad. Easy to deal with, and the pedal was despatched quickly and safely. Recommended! 👍🏻
  11. Ben bought a pedal from me. Not the first time we've done business and all went smoothly, as before. A pleasure to deal with. Maybe I'll use the money to buy another Crimson Red, @SumOne! 😉
  12. Much prefer that tort to the original gold. A very tasteful upgrade! GLWTS
  13. A wonderful pre. Glorious SVT clean and dirty tone in abundance. £155 posted in the UK. Here's what Broughton say: The SV-Pre is a JFET preamplifier that has been modeled after the preamp section of the 70s SVT. Each gain stage has been carefully designed to capture the feel of warmth and breakup found on the original amp. Coupled with a cab sim, you could have the monstrous tone of the classic bass amp stack without the challenge of transporting 250 pounds of gear. In addition to the gain stage design, the EQ and tone switches have been designed to give the same response as those on the original amp. The Bass and Treble controls are the standard James stack configuration, having a shelving response of the lows and highs. The eq is flat when at noon. The middle control uses a simulated inductor to emulate the same frequency response and width of the mid control on the SVT. Instead of three fixed frequencies, the frequency knob continuously varies from 220 to 3k Hz. The mid eq is flat when at noon. The Low toggle switch uses the same circuitry as the three-way Ultra lo switch on the SVT. With the toggle to the right, a 2-pole high pass filter is applied, and allows for a more natural drive tone. With the toggle in the middle position, the low end is unaffected. With the toggle in the left position, a slight scoop is applied, emphasizing deep lows and treble frequencies. The Bright toggle switch applies a treble boost, and is more pronounced at lower gain settings. A Master volume knob has been added on the output to set the overall level. Use the Gain knob to set the desired amount of warmth and overdrive. The Gain knob is equivalent the the Volume knob on the 70s SVT. The pedal requires a 9V DC power supply (not included). Do not exceed 9V as this will damage the pedal. The DC supply should be a standard Boss style connector, center negative polarity. The current draw is approximately 20 mA.

  16. These are good! As the ovnilab review says, the mid/full/low switch is a killer feature.
  17. Dan and I traded a Broughton SV Pre and a Broughton Fliptop by post. Dan was a pleasure to communicate with and made our swap a breeze. Deal with with confidence 👌 😎
