Can anyone recommend direct replacement bridges and pickups for these 2 basses? Has anyone done this? Also does anyone know if a standard Stingray 5 pickgaurd would fit the MB5?
-
As Status are no longer selling replacement Jazz necks, can anyone recommend another manufacturing selling in the UK?

GB4 coming in a little over £1100. I expect the GB5 not to be far off that. Hopefully the Elrick is under that price point

Very interested to see the price's against these.

Maybe it's just me, but I think finished headstocks on maple fingerboards just don't look good?!? Thanks for all the info!

Oh, and does anyone know if the pickups can be replaced with soapbar pickups from nordstrand, Aguilar etc?

It will be very interesting to see what price these basses come in at based on the quality of the hardware alone! Sadly for me the 5 string won't be an option as it looks like another 19mm string spacing😭

I will be surprised if it comes in over the £1k mark. I have put on hold my next bass until more details are released😄

Sadly I cannot find anywhere stocking this bass as it may have been a very limited run

Bought this bass last week direct from Mark Ramsay. For those that don't know, Mark is an incredible bass builder and his instruments are of the highest quality. This bass is no exception, but there are a few issues that you should be aware of before purchasing.
I'm in no rush to sell and will happily hang on to bass if no interest.
All sales are final with no refunds.
Original hand-crafted instrument by Mark Ramsay (RMI).
* 34" scale
* 22 medium frets (highest quality 18% nickel-silver) - glued-in for optimal tone and attack
* Compound 10" - 20" fretboard radius
* 43mm-wide bone nut
* 18mm strig spacing at the bridge (currently set as 17mm)
* Hipshot Kickass premium bridge (outstanding attack & sustain)
* Hipshot Ultralight Alloy 3/8" Y-key tuners
* EMG active dual-coil humbucking pickup with coil-selection switch (parallel / series)
Body is ash and neck wood is beech.
No case or bag supplied. Goods will be very securely padded and packed.

Truss road adjustment is limited due to incorrect fitting. This means that the string action is fixed into a medium / standard feel like a standard P bass. Still very comfortable to play. The bass could also do with a fret dressing as the frets do have some sharp edges.
Will only ship to UK addresses. Postage is £25.

If sale falls through let me know 😊

Did these basses not come fitted with an EMG pickup? I may be wrong on that? Do you still have the plastic control knobs? Thanks. B

Thanks for the response. Hopefully no additional charges this end, but have emailed direct to confirm.

Has anyone ordered from this shop recently as I'm trying to find out if I will be charged VAT when bringing the guitar into the UK? I think they are based in the Netherlands, but I have heard mixed reports of no VAT charged? Can't see anything on the website to indicate that? Looking to order a bass at £2000+ so don't want any surprises when it arrives 😂

Sold many basses on basschat.co.uk but this sets the record!!!

The bass is as new, zero signs of wear, use or damage. Stunning bass, but sadly the neck profile is not to my liking. £849 RRP. Selling at low price to move on, but can't stress enough, the bass is as NEW. Will be securely posted in gig bag. Please note, I only post to UK addresses. £15 for postage. Message for more details. Does anyone know the neck pocket size for this bass? Thinking of picking one up and replacing the neck with a status graphite jazz neck. Not sure if it will be a match?

Anyone know if there are direct fit replacement pickups for this bass? EMG? Preferably white.

Any recommendations for pickup and EQ upgrades for this bass? Obviously, the most cost effective the better 😄
