Honestly one of the best basses ever made at a fantastic price! I would snap it up but I couldn't settle with the 7.5 neck radius.

Yep, that would have been my old bass then. Loved the neck, super fast

Did you buy the green Tobias on here? I'm pretty sure I used to own that bass many years ago! Always regretted selling it.
-
Anyone know if the new versions of the 5's have 16.5 spacing or 19?
-
I wonder if Andertons will sell on your bass at a slightly reduced price as I wouldn't mind picking up one of these 👌
-
It's purely cosmetic as I hate the oversized sterling bridges. I prefer the slimmer looking stingray bridge 👍
-
There bridges look excellent but very expensive, I have also read they are never in stock. Going by the website that looks about right 😔
-
It's a sterling ray2 bass, 4 string. Shame, musicman don't sell direct replacements
-
Where sells them? Tried the ones sold off AliExpress and eBay and they are complete junk.

I wonder if the frank Bello Spector will be revealed at this year's namm 🔥

I’ve just pulled the trigger on a 4 string PJ for £251 at Thomann - couldn’t resist! Hopefully it’ll arrive tomorrow. If I get on with it, I might mod it with one of Sadowsky’s VTC circuits. Are the kits where you can mod the electronics easy to install or would it be better to pay more and buy the more expensive complete unit? I’m ok with a soldering iron!!
Mines just arrived today, same deal from thomann for the sunburst finish. Just requires a set up, but all good. I plan to strip out the pickups and EQ and replace with EMG

Apologies in advance for the stupid question, but can you completely remove a Sadowsky metro express EQ and pickups and replace with an active EMG P/J set as sold in most stores? I'm assuming this is completely possible but not commonly done?

I’d love a reissue 3000/1600…But I doubt that’ll happen.
Yes a BB3000 reissue would be the thing of dreams but I don't think that will be on the cards 😔 It will be interesting to see what Yamaha has planned for 2025

Wonder if the red finish is the same as the Peter Hook model? Looks like it! Would have been nice to see a few other colour options

I've heard some whispers that Yamaha might be bringing out a new range next year.
Very interesting! Where did you hear this? I for one would like to see the return of the bigger body BB basses 🔥
I'm currently on the lookout for a BB424x or 1204x 👍
-
Probably best if I get a shop to do it 👍
-
Any idea the rough cost to have an unfinished bass body finished in sunburst? Cheaper the better 👍
-
I may just hang fire to see if the drop in price in the coming months.
-
Has anyone tried the latest run of sadowsky metro express basses? Worth the cost at £899? Similar to the previous run, they seem to be generating very little online interest, although I am seriously tempted to give them another shot. Wouldn't be surprised if they are heavily discounted in the coming months.

Bass direct, A Euro or Korean version is definitely the best option before it hits the market.

Neck radius 12 or 9.5?

As previously mentioned, when the bass is officially announced and specs shared, I think Spector could be on to a winner. I much prefer this headstock compared to the Coda, but the big question will be the price point. From a previous post, this is a prototype bass so no doubt some elements will change, although I don't think they need to 😉
-
Sadly like a lot of recent Spector models, I think the pricing will come in at £2000+ .Prove me wrong Spector! All his previous sig models (There have been quite a few) all came in for under a grand (Fender, Charvel, ESP)
