1. In awesome condition, electro acoustic Washburn EA16, with camo gigbag (like new), and a spare set of strings, and one of those things to put in the hole to stop it feedbacking when plugged in! £100 collected from Peterborough, don't have a box to post it in.
2. Thinking about a new project as I have a few evenings spare a week at the moment, something a bit different would be good, maybe some old school hip-hop, or something guitarless? People around my own age would be good (mid to late 20s), maybe even just a recording project, get some songs wrote and recorded but up for full band too. This is my band if you wanna hear me play - www.myspace.com/stringfinger
3. My channel 1 is dead it would seem, 2 is still fine, and I can actually hear the eq working on 1 (for example when I turn the treble up, it hisses more), anyone got any idea? Nothing seems obviously wrong, I am e-mailing aguilar now, but do not know who would deal with this in the UK? They have a 3 year warranty, but I bought second hand from here, hoping I can get it sorted!
4. Just got back from a gig, and we were in the studio earlier recording this song, called Funk Trumpet, link below (or search Facebook for Stringfinger). http://www.myspace.com/stringfinger
5. Does anyone use their stuff? Seems to be the cheapest around, and wonder if its a case of you get what you pay for or not, or if it actually works.
6. How can I get that sort of sound in the studio? Recording a funky sounding song in a few weeks, and I bum Earth, Wind and Fire so would quite like a tone a bit like Verdine White used to get.
7. I decided against joining a band on guitar recently, and I bought this guitar for that, so thinking of moving it on! Has been played loads, has a load of buckle rash on the back, and some general marks all over, but it really does play great and can handle any tuning you want to throw at it. The gloss SG Specials are around £799 new now without a hard case (they come with a gig bag), I am after half of that - £399 (with the hiscox case), plus postage although collection is preferred. No trades now. NOW £375!! Even lower at £350! NOW £325!!!
8. My pedals all fell off my board when I moved it, it's a flightcased board from spider engineering, so basically uses velcro to attach it all to a bit of wood inside the flightcase, anyone got any ideas on how to sort this? The velcro won't stick properly to either the board or the pedals, supposed to be jamming tomorrow with a band using my board.
9. Got this a few weeks ago, then was offered a cheap Gibson SG by a mate, so got that too, and don't need 2 new guitars! £350 + postage, collection is good. Will get more photo's later, although that one is actually my one. http://www.ibanez.com/ElectricGuitars/model-S520EX
10. 2 of them, one normal one, and one which is 2 parts (like for a 2 band eq etc), brand new! £6 posted?
11. Brand new in their pack as you can see! £11 for both posted. One for each side!
12. Used this for a bit in a Cort a few years back, but is in top shape. £30 posted ono!
13. Got this to put on my warmoth, but have been too lazy and now using that as a fretted backup to my Sandberg! Brand new, never used, there is a weird scuff on the bottom edge of the board, but that was there when I got it, but I want to be 100% honest! Obviously in no way effects the playing of the neck!! Copied this from an ebay description of a neck that is the same: -
Mighty Mite 'Licensed By Fender' Precision replacement Ebonal Fretless neck (MM2919). Brand new and made from the finest Northern Michigan & Canadian Hard Rock Maple. Completely shaped, and finished with a clear satin lacquer. Includes nut, truss rod and position markers on the side. Stamped 'Lic. by Fender' on the heel. Beautifully finished with a Black Ebonal Fretless fingerboard with white side markers. 34" scale and measures 1 5/8" across nut and direct replacement for USA, Japanese and Mexican Precision Basses. These also fit Squier basses but be aware that depending on where and when your Squier was made the body thickness maybe a 1/4" thinner and you may have to adjust the bridge and pickup height.. Tuner holes are 11/16" dia.and measures 2.5" across the heel. Can be bolted straight on and used as is or over-sprayed with other lacquers and finishes. It is worth noting that the Mighty Mite Jazz and Precision necks all have the same heel measurements and are 34" scale length and are interchangeable, ie you could fit a Jazz neck on a Precision body and vice versa. Usual retail price is $139.00 plus VAT, import duty and handling charge. (www.mightymite.com)
£60 posted! Payment by direct bank transfer preffered, or paypal if you pay the fee's, cheque is okay too, or picking it up, check my feedback on here below in my signature.
14. It's up at www.myspace.com/stringfinger or you can search for Stringfinger on facebook and it's there too!
15. Sold Dave my hartke combo, great transaction, quick payment, good comms, let me know when it arrived etc.
16. I decided to get a Shuker Jazz after looking at all the Jazzes available, gonna phone Jon later to put the deposit down, but thought I'd post a spec here: - 4 string J bass 34" scale 22 fret Maple neck Maple f/board Orange headstock face (to match body) Two way truss rod Carbon fibre reinforcement Black 2mm side dots Black block markers Possible inlay on 12th fret block Satin lacquer finish Brass nut Medium fretwire Gotoh elephant ear tuners Black shuker logo Swamp ash body Polyester basecoat Bright orange colour coat, gloss topcoat Black s/plate Black control plate Black hardware Black gotoh 203 bridge Delano JMVC 4 FE/M2 pickups Passive electronics Vol, pan, tone Shuker Hiscox hardcase
17. Anyone got any idea? With a maple board! A shop that is, as it'd go on the credit card!
18. Any good? What makes them worth so much more then the standard MIA models?
19. Okay, probably in the next week I will order a new Jazz, and it's came down to either: - 1 - Sandberg California JJ - maple fretboard/block inlays, and any colour they do (not sure which I like, they don't do anything really bright) 2 - Shuker Jazz - gloss orange finished, maple fretboard/block inlays, delano pickups, shuker eq, ash body 3 - Fender Geddy Lee - still has the maple fretboard/block inlays, but not really the finish I want I can get a Sandberg I want ordered for me for £1099 (instead of £1400 from elsewhere), it'll be made for me as no-where has them in stock, this is because I was talking to synergy and they spoke to PMT about getting me one cheaper, it'd probably take a couple of months to get it. The shuker would be £1300 but take 5 months, and the Geddy Lee in sunburst is £699. Obviously, I cannot play the first two, they don't exist yet, but I love my Sandberg now (it's hardcore relic'd though). Any advice? I'm leaning towards the Shuker, but know the wait will be a pain!
20. I want another Sandberg, but at the same time, the Fender Geddy Lee is pretty interesting! Has anyone owned both and can compare? Due to the massive price increase of Sandberg, they are quite a bit now, but since I feel mine is by far the best bass I've laid my hands on, I am thinking it might be worth it.
21. Anyone seen any nice Sandberg California JJ-4s for sale in any shops in the UK recently? I want another one, and at the moment the ones I am interested in are in Germany!
22. Can anyone help with this? I want to work from the very bottom up so I can get some musical qualifications, and better my theory etc.
23. Anyone know who is playing bass for them now? Is it Sergio Vega still?
