  1. Hi All,

So my new band just played our debut show on Saturday, and I took one of my GK 410 RBH cabs.  These things handle 800 Watts 8 Ohms...

We were up first at the show, I didn't notice anything unusual while I was playing through our set.  Signal was going into the cab via the 1/4 socket rather than the SpeakOn.

The bassists in the bands that came after us all used my cab, most of them with their own heads.  I was around and helped connect things, and we were always using my speaker cable which is really high quality (nice Designacable one with Neutrik jacks).

During the performance of the very last band, I noticed that something was glowing periodically in the upper left side of the rear of the cab.  There was a white / yellowish glow that looked to me like it was coming from sparks.  The glow was so bright, that it even shined through the paper on the speaker cones on the left of the cab.  Everything continued to sound fine... performance went on and the cab never caught fire or anything. 😂

Has anyone seen this happen before?  I'll have to pull out a speaker or two and see what is going on back there...  I also wonder if using the 1/4" jack rather than the SpeakOn connector had something to do with it.

I have two of these 410 cabs, have driven them really hard in the past, but never experienced any issues.  BUT on all other occasions I was using the SpeakOn socket.

  2. I have a total of 8 sets of surplus Electro-harmonix quad matched KT-88 valves up for sale (totally unused).  Price is £250 / set and this includes shipping in the UK.

Valves were quad matched by Hot Rox and purchased new from them in 2022.  I just re-valved my two Strategies, and I'm keeping a couple of sets as spares... so these are available if someone needs them.

  3. Another great pedal that I just don't use these days.  Was purchased new from Anderton's during the pandemic so that I could play with myself :) while at home.  Now that we're rehearsing regularly again, I'm either playing against recorded rehearsal tracks or playing live with my mates.  Personally, I would have a difficult time using this pedal in any live performance situation.

Price of £95 includes shipping to the UK.  Original box included.

  4. I'm selling this MXR Bass Compressor pedal, which I purchased used off of eBay a few years back.  I no longer use compression when playing live (I now always play through a distortion pedal, and if I need compression for the studio it's either a plug-in or via my sound engineer's outboard), so this has just been sitting around unused!

Price of £110 includes shipping.  There is a patch of velcro on the bottom.  I do not have the original box.

  5. I'm selling this Darkglass Alpha Omega pedal that I bought new (original box included).  It's a really great pedal, but is just a bit too metal for what I play and now is just sitting around un-used.  After a pedal / tone 'shoot-out' session with our sound engineer, I've ultimately settled on using pedals like the Mesa Flux Drive and EHX Soul Food.

Price of £175 includes the cost of shipping within the UK.

I'm also super-happy with it, but unfortunately I just have too much stuff and in the past couple of years I've only used it one or two times (and I play bass nearly every day!). :(

I even hauled it into the studio with me about a month ago, when we were doing bass sound comparisons with different pedals / amps...  We were so distracted by the Mesa Strategy 888 that I also brought, that we completely forgot about the GK RB1001.  Never even plugged it in!  Back home it went...

  8. I'm selling my Gallien Krueger RB1001 MkII bass head, which **includes the original box and documentation**.  It's a really great bass head, no issues whatsoever.  If you're looking for one, then you know what I'm talking about!   I had it in a rack, so it is shown here with the ears attached.  Of course I also have the original feet and handle, if you would like to use it out of a rack.

This amp was purchased used off of Basschat before the start of the pandemic.  I'm only selling because I now have too many amps, and realized while trying other bass heads during the pandemic that I really do prefer having a valve preamp.  I now want to put the money into some other gear... so would like to pass this one along.

Price is £449 (which includes shipping within the UK).  If you're near Sheffield and would like to drop by to check it out, you're more than welcome.  I have a specific piece of gear in mind, so I'm not interested in trades.  Thanks!

  9. I'm selling my Aguilar Chorusaurus bass pedal.  Pedal comes with the original box, but there is no power supply.  There is some velcro on the underside of the pedal.

This pedal works great, and is another one that was fun to play with for a while.  However, it was ultimately not the effect that I'm after... I came to realize that I really just want a bit of reverb and so settled on a different pedal that does what I need.

Price is £159 and includes the cost of shipping within the UK.

  10. Selling my bass Big Muff Pi pedal.  There is a patch of velro on the underside.

I purchased this used, and the pots were scratchy when it arrived.  I opened up the pedal and cleaned the pots with DeoxIT contact cleaner, and it now works great.  Another pedal that was fun to try, but ultimately the sound is not quite what I'm after... I just found it too fuzzy for the type of music I play.

Price is £49, includes price of shipping in the UK.  There is no box or power supply with this pedal.

  11. Selling my Darkglass B7K Ultra v2 pedal that has the Cabsim.  Great pedal, which I purchased used.  It has been really fun to play around with for a bit (even took it into the studio to compare with some other pedals), but the sound is a bit too metal for the type of music that I play.

Has XLR out and headphone jack (in the spirit of full disclosure: the headphone jack seems to have a minor issue and only produces mono but I don't use with headphones anyway.  Perhaps it is just a contact needing adjustment or a cold solder joint inside?).  The underside of the pedal is covered in velco.

Price is £249, and this includes shipping to UK.  There is no box or power supply.
