FYI, the Rick standard strings are nickel rounds and have an unusual set of gauges with 45,55,75,105

Interesting.  Thanks for this comment.  The strings that I would normally put on are DR Lo-rider mediums with the gauges 45 65 85 105.

@tvickey mine comes tomorrow same colour from GG. How’s the strings on it ? I take it there Rickenbackers own.

That's great!  The factory strings seem decent... I'm leaving them on until they wear out!    Normally I would remove factory strings and put DRs on...

Stuck a bezel on earlier but didn’t notice the wheels on the saddles move when removing the strings but did notice there’s only one wrap around the E string tuner shaft….always thought at least 2….mind you the shafts look rather wee

Yeah, I did the same with mine... bezel installed after a couple of days, and the strings also had a single wrap around the pegs from the factory.  I'm leaving the manufacturer strings on for now, but will do more than a single wrap when I change them out.

Hi Ian, Those all look great!  Yeah, I remember you showing me one of them (perhaps the FireGlo?) when I dropped by your place a few years ago...   I'm still interested in that ChromeTone Warwick... one day! ;)

    (I have 8 - I'm a Ricaholic...)

Oh wow, what finishes are the 8 that you have??  Photos? :)

I've definitely looked around for some others... sadly, my GAS acts up most when something is particularly rare and/or difficult to find (e.g., I'm sure I could do with a nice late 70's early 80's Burgundy-Glo 4001... or a Noir with an ebony fretboard).  :)

    I'm fascinated by these!

Which cable goes in which input?

I guess I'd need two amps as well?

From memory, didn't some players put one pup through a guitar amp?

The TRS jack goes into the "Rick-o-Sound" socket on the bass, and then the neck pick-up goes out on one TS lead, while the bridge pick-up goes out on the second TS lead.

I did give it a go during rehearsal yesterday, and had this going through two amps.  I put distortion on the bridge into one amp, and the neck clean into another.  It sounded really good... I will probably play it like that at our next gig. ;)  Just for fun.

I couldn't bring myself to part with the eight or ninety quid they want for one of those splitter boxes, so I built one for about ten quid in parts (aluminium pedal case and three decent quality jack sockets).

That is what I SHOULD have done... because what arrived from Rickysounds didn't match the photo in the auction.  I became concerned that this is not a Neutrik plug at all, and the boot / strain relief not fitting properly looks suspect.

When I pointed this out, I received an angry response from Robbie telling me, "You are wrong".  He then called me up on the phone to explain... seems to be some older stock of Neutrik plug from before the name went on them.

Yeah I like a 130 B String personally. That is a lovely bass and with a fabulous grain 👍🏻👍🏻

I installed a set of Sadowsky black label strings with a tapered low-B, but it seems way too floppy to me.  I've since picked up a set of DR lo-riders that includes a standard 130 B and will give that a go...
