  1. And the music video for our song 'Micromanager' has now been released! You can see some up-close shots of the Ric, but the audio is from a Warwick Thumb NT4. Enjoy! 🤣😎🇬🇧
  2. Our new music video has just been released! Check out Shreds 'Micromanager':
  3. My band Shreds. will be playing in Nottingham on Saturday October 28th at the Sumac Centre. Be sure to drop by and check us out!
  4. BTW: My action is way lower than what is advertised in this photo on the string pack!
  5. Interesting. Thanks for this comment. The strings that I would normally put on are DR Lo-rider mediums with the gauges 45 65 85 105.
  6. That's great! The factory strings seem decent... I'm leaving them on until they wear out! Normally I would remove factory strings and put DRs on...
  7. Ahhh... you write above that you still have the keys! I should try reading for once!
  8. We filmed a music video last weekend, so I brought the Rickenbacker along... I'm not really playing... and the studio audio track was done using a Warwick Thumb 🤣
  9. Yeah, I did the same with mine... bezel installed after a couple of days, and the strings also had a single wrap around the pegs from the factory. I'm leaving the manufacturer strings on for now, but will do more than a single wrap when I change them out.
  10. Hi Ian, Those all look great! Yeah, I remember you showing me one of them (perhaps the FireGlo?) when I dropped by your place a few years ago... I'm still interested in that ChromeTone Warwick... one day!
  11. My band Shreds. are playing at the Bank Top Tavern in Oldham tomorrow. Entry is free so come check us out!
  12. Oh wow, what finishes are the 8 that you have?? Photos? I've definitely looked around for some others... sadly, my GAS acts up most when something is particularly rare and/or difficult to find (e.g., I'm sure I could do with a nice late 70's early 80's Burgundy-Glo 4001... or a Noir with an ebony fretboard).
  13. What year is this one? That looks like the new bridge, and a still with a glossy fretboard?
  14. Very nice! Is that a 2023 as well?
  15. The TRS jack goes into the "Rick-o-Sound" socket on the bass, and then the neck pick-up goes out on one TS lead, while the bridge pick-up goes out on the second TS lead. I did give it a go during rehearsal yesterday, and had this going through two amps. I put distortion on the bridge into one amp, and the neck clean into another. It sounded really good... I will probably play it like that at our next gig. Just for fun.
  16. That is what I SHOULD have done... because what arrived from Rickysounds didn't match the photo in the auction. I became concerned that this is not a Neutrik plug at all, and the boot / strain relief not fitting properly looks suspect. When I pointed this out, I received an angry response from Robbie telling me, "You are wrong". He then called me up on the phone to explain... seems to be some older stock of Neutrik plug from before the name went on them.
  17. I just picked up one of these boxes to give the Rick-o-Sound a go... I have two Strategy 888s... one into the 6x10" and the other into the 2x15"? 😂😂
  18. I installed a set of Sadowsky black label strings with a tapered low-B, but it seems way too floppy to me. I've since picked up a set of DR lo-riders that includes a standard 130 B and will give that a go...
  19. I gigged it on Saturday... sounded massive! That low-E... Oof!
  20. @Skybone is your avatar a 'stealth' bass from Rickysounds? Just curious...
  21. A7B35AB5-D5FF-4642-9BB8-373843478545.he I don't know what's going on with the photos...
  22. NBD! Just arrived yesterday... there appears to have been a large wave of new Rickenbackers in Matte Black finish that hit the UK recently... This is the first Ric that I've ever owned. A few observations: The fretboard is Caribbean Rosewood, and seems to have a light matte finish(?). The knobs are more 'vintage' style, at least on this 2023 one. The new-style bridge looks great to me, and really fit for purpose. The stock strap-locks are apparently made by Schaller for Ric, so my locking straps snapped right in! It's not very heavy, and to me the neck seems quite thin and slim. The store that I bought it from didn't bother with any kind of setup at all... there is no intonation set, and there is quite a lot of fret buzz at the moment (I'll fix that myself...). The case contained very minimal stuff... a single dual-purpose certificate / warranty paper, together with a plastic bag containing a polishing cloth and some keys (assorted hex + case). No manual! Stickers were removed on the first day. 2BA68974-2101-49B5-B9D2-4B75797BC66D.heic A7B35AB5-D5FF-4642-9BB8-373843478545.heic 25D8F5CE-8623-4944-9A8D-C64B47C838FA.heic 5720CF65-8D1B-447F-920E-EF43D894222F.heic FEAADC73-0D29-4427-B1E6-09BB6AC98887.heic 12E73001-E99E-4C3D-B97F-593F0C7253EA.heic 09D8A5C6-C39E-4E93-A99D-841DF4F45D77.heic 3B6918C4-943B-47CC-AB79-6BD45B7BD41A.heic DA961C3F-2C66-4B6B-A506-2AAA1B481A8D.heic B8748E01-C9AF-4395-B266-944EAFF4DF84.heic
