1. .
Due to size issues,and portability

I have got myself a lovely Aguilar DB 112 cabinet in boss tweed .
I later purchased the AG500 from Mistaah Benn to go with it.

Since then ,I realise that I still have this Eden sitting in the corner doing nothing.

It's a great ,loud bright sounding combo. used but not abused ;)

Would swap for Dean Psycho Cabbie Bass. Similar Semi acoustic bass ,
Aguilar DB112 cabinet (tweed) One of those fender butterscotch basses
or approx £300.00 cash

I'm based in Twickenham.Greater London. Pickup only please if you are interested.

Cheers

Ray

2. Why not get the same one. Then, customise it!! Get a lairy colour sprayed on it, D-Tuners on it etc. ;)
Then you'll have your 'main' bass and a 'fun' bass

3. I suppose the best thing would be to find out if one of your
fave bass players has a DVD ie Hotlicks.
I had a Stu Hamm one . Trouble is ,I spent more time running before I could walk
and eventually went back to the basics.

I find that what I do (playing rock covers) doesn't require all the tricks of the circus.
When I first learned the very basics and was looking for inspiration,
I got the Rudy Sarzo one. (ok, I was a metalhead and it was back in the hair days) ;)
It was great for me as it showed bits from all of the party tricks but never went off track with the fundamentals.

I do wish that I could go back in time,be transported to LA and Jeff Berlin was my teacher.. ^_^

Good luck anyway

4. Saw them last night at Camden.....AWESOME! 4th time now ;)
It's a shame that they've been plagued by bad luck.

They should've been megastars by now.
They still rawk! :P

p.s. saw a little bit of one of the support bands(female on vocals)
They were pretty good. Mr.Bass looked cool enough :)
They sounded a little like Evanesence(spelling?) from what I remember.
Great mellow atmosphere,great night

5.
Turnkey in London was always my favourite music shop. You went in and they just had everything out from guitars to whole DAWs/sequencers that you could play on - didn't even need to ask the staff first. Spent so much money in there.

I'm told they closed down or moved or something. :P
They went the same way as Soundcontrol,at around the same time ;)

6. Used combos may be the way to go.
I would say something in the region of !50-200 watts..TRACE ELLIOT, GALLIEN KRUEGER ROLAND CUBE,LINE 6

We'll see what other BC'S will come up with.. ;)

7. Wow! Thanks for your advice, and input.
I had a feeling about the feedback issues.
I had a hunch that I wouldn't be able to use one all night playing hard rock covers. :P

It seems that most of these do have a 50/60's vibe about them.
I do love the psycho bass best so far.
I have seen them on the bay and was outbid.
also, one seller started the bidding at£280.00, needless to say nobody wanted it for that price.

I suppose that if I saw something similar around£180.00 I would probably go for it
(funds permitting). Mainly because it would be a work of art on the wall ,played occasionally. ;)
A bass picasso if you like :)
That's the trouble with these GAS moments :you have to look at the full picture when something catches the eye

Please post some more pictures and share some more thoughts if you have any

Cheers

8.
Practice and if needsbe simplify the bass line.

Saw Slayer once close up and while singing Tom Araya played quite striaght forward bass lines only showboating when there was no vocal, seemed a goodish move to me.
Tom rules ;)

9. ;) Howdy! I was looking at a couple of loud basses over the last few months.
Rather than going down the expensive route of giving one of my basses a custom colour,
I was looking at the above..namely a CHARVEL SURFCASTER BASS & aDEAN PSYCHO CABBIE BASS.

Do any of you think that these(or similar basses) work? (ie could you play these all night in a rock covers band etc.)

Please give me some advice, and some pics of yours if possible.

I don't know if I'll be looking to purchase one just yet.If I did ,I wouldn't wanna part with 'silly money'.

Cheers

Ray
10. Thought I'd give you an update.and wrap this up.
New set arrived on the Tuesday as stated.
All was fine.not too keen on the finish onthe rear of these..looks like
drink was spilt on them! Bad design I guess.

I received emails a few days and a week later from the people mentioned
previously in this post. Told them case closed.

Have been using them over the last few days ,and think that they are good and
look good on my desktop setup.

Thanks for your help guys :P

pics from mobile phone ;)
