  1. ive noticed uk owners are more attracted to pickguards than us or japanese owners
  2. https://reverb.com/item/18267481-yamaha-bb1200-broad-bass-1200 haven't seen a bb1200 this low in years
  3. i finally watched that and it really makes me not want that bass. that marketing is totally lost on me. looks like a college project promo video.
  4. i noticed that too. heres my bb350 and bb300
  5. its pretty much the same as the standard SR neck
  6. i think bridges are sitting in a routed recess.
  7. The accu-cast B505 on the SR875 has adjustable string spacing SR2605 is 16.5mm https://www.ibanez.com/usa/products/detail/sr2605_01.html Need wider spacing? Look at ATK (18mm on 5 strings) or BTB (19mm)
  8. Yes to sharing the same eq but the neck woods and construction, bridges and pickups vary. Standard SR don’t have the eq bypass switch. Premium and prestige SR have truss rod access at the heel. SR500x, SR260x, SR182x, SR170x have KTS titanium rods. SR140x, SR130x and the standards don’t SR2600 has luminlay side markers. Not sure if the other premiums do too.
  9. I think the 3v system (power curve III 3 band) eq was on the 09-14 SR4000E, 11-12 SR4500E and the 09-14 SR5000E as well as their 5 and 6 string counterparts. Also the limited edition SR5JCT. They are recognizable by the 2 rubber knobs, 4 plastic knobs and only one switch. In 2015, the eq was replaced by the ibanez custom 3 band eq which has 5 plastic knobs (2 large, 3 small) and two switches and a 9v battery box on the back. Power curve III - you can see the 2 AA battery box
  10. Blue is yamaha’s colour. I don’t know why they don’t make more blue basses...
  11. Different body construction, dimensions, number of frets, fretboard wood, bridge, tuners, pickups, factory etc. Simplifying it by saying one Yamaha 5 string is a bolt on version of another Yamaha 5 string made decades ago is too broad for me but if you want to generalise it like that it could be valid from a certain point of view.
  12. rhubarb custard black currant and liquorice
  13. I have a partial list. I add them as I find them. I’m tracking 80-90 BB models.
  14. BB5000 came out at the end of 1984. I think BB1100s came out about the same time. Earlier BB1100s serial I’ve seen dates to 1985.
  15. 1200s and 1100s have many differences beyond neck through vs bolt on. Number of pickups, orientation of the p pickup, bridge. 1200s doesn’t have the eq switch, it’s a passive/active toggle.
  16. ive seen taiwan bb300 with short cutaways
  17. opinions differ... ...and it's not mine...
  18. the white one was a bb3000. it's been rerouted for bb2000 pickups and the inlays redone to look like a bb2000. it basically is a bb2000 now but the controls are in a slightly different location and the cutaways are different.
