1. It's a proper bargain mate, if it was a 5 string I'd have bought it back when you first uploaded it, I can't believe it's not gone yet
2. Don't tell her! My other half never knows about my purchases, I do them while she's at work and play it cooooool
3. HI all, I thought I'd never be selling this one but here goes! Sandberg classic 6 with Cocobolo top (now cites controlled within the EU and not available anymore). I've had a good look over this bass and I can't see a mark on it. I bought it for use with a function band so I payed a lot to have it properly modified with the internal GK system for use with the Roland GR55. Since this band doesn't exist anymore I haven't used the bass, it sits sadly in it's case so I thought it best to move on. The GK installation is so well done you couldn't tell it wasn't like this from factory. I'm looking for £920 posted (UK) Trades wise I'm only interested in an Warwick Streamer 5 strings or 5 string Bongo A few more bits of info I've been asked for. The body wood is mahogony, String spacing at the bridge is currently set at 17mm but it's easily adjusted and has a range of 16mm to 18mm The pickups are Delano SBC and the preamp is Delano also, it's a variation of the sonar preamp with bas/mid/treb and has a passive option in the form of a pull volume pot. I found a couple of small snippets of when I was dialing in the GR55 for use, only recorded on an iphone though. https://www.dropbox....2%2015.mov?dl=0 https://www.dropbox....6%2017.mov?dl=0 Cheers
4. Sorry this is Sold, I was sure I updated the thread.

6. I'm going to be that annoying guy and ask if you're considering trades? Sorry!
7. SOLD https://www.youtube....h?v=5yUtfN-63Io
8. Yeah, I favour barky bridge sounds since my function bands are mostly exclusively funk and disco bands. The change in tone doesn't offend me at all, it's just a bit different to the G10 tone, I'm sure I'll get used to it!
9. I suppose it's just different systems will have a slight different sound. I'm not normally one for glassy high's myself either. I use a greenboy F212 cabinet with the tweeter and mid range driver alongside the 2 12"speakers so the cab is really detailed in it's sound and sensitive to what changes before it. I play with amp eq flat, preamp on the bass I go with treble rolled off a touch, mids boosted a touch and bass flat. I'm most of the time using the bridge pickup with around 70/30 blend.
10. I bought the G55 today and it works flawlessly with all previously mentioned whiney basses. What a difference. Oddly there is a substantial tone difference. The gr55 without cable tone is clicky on the top end and with its considerably dulled. The G10 had a baked in cable tone that was somewhat in the middle of these extremes, nothing I can't solve with my now working preamps though eh! Cheers guys
11. It has an isolated supply from my rack conditioner, I also made a DC > usb 9 > 5 voltage step down circuit board and powered it from my pedal board brick (hotstone deluxe) . The issue is acknowledged by line 6, It's to do with the current that passes through the sleeve and ring on inserting the jack to activate the battery of the bass pre. If the pre is of the type that senses the current (something to do with resistors activating the pre, I'm not sure and I don't fancy opening an epoxy sealed pre. Apparently the resistance causes the transmitter to think it's charging) and turns on as opposed to the current just arriving and it being turned on, the noise will occur. That's why it only does it on some pre amps and not others. I have found a solution but it's not one I'm happy with. If i remove the battery power from the jack socket and install a battery on switch instead the noise is gone, however I don't fancy drilling holes in my basses to install a battery on switch for the sake of a wireless.
12. Hi peeps. Had this unit since launch and was initially happy with it until the realisation I can only use it on a few basses because of that annoying high pitched whine crap that they do with some active circuits. This has now (after plenty of people bought the thing) been confirmed as a "limitation of the design" Male TS female TS and other such solutions don't work. Swapping the ring/sleeve wires doesn't work. I've swapped a preamp in one bass out of curiosity and gave the whine to a previously none whiny bass. I've had enough to be honest and I will be selling it on shortly, but I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any experience of the G55 system? Does that suffer the same issue of it making a consistent high pitched whine with some active basses? If anyone could give me a heads up before I consider purchasing one that would be grand, I'd rather not waste money a second time. For interests sake here are the basses and preamps Sandberg classic 6 with delano pups and pre. Whine's like crazy Mayones BE exotic 5 with Bartolini pups and mayo3 pre. Doesn't whine Mayones BE exotic 5 with Bartolini pups and Auiliar ob3 pre. Whine's like crazy Warwick streamer 4 with MEC pups and passive circuits. No whine Warwick streamer 4 with EMG J pups and Pre. No whine Warwick Corvette 6 with Basslines pups and MEC 2 band pre. No whine Warwick Corvette 6 with Basslines pups and MEC 3 band pre. Whines like crazy Custom affair with Delano pups and Sonar 3 pre. Whines the loudest of all Musicman Stingray 4. All stock and no whine. I wouldn't mind as much but it's my main basses (Sanberg and Mayo) that I take to gigs that happen to be the whiners of the lot. Cheers
13. Cheers Dan I've just had a play with it, It's a line level output. What happens since it's meant to be for powered GK cabs is the master volume on the 800 becomes kind of like a pre volume for the 500. You can then turn up the master on the 500 to the required volume. Incredibly there are no earth hum loops going on. Cheers
14. HI peeps, the manual doesn't seem to offer much insight apart from the chain out on the GK fusion 800 is to go to a powered GK cab. Do we think it wouldn't be damaging to chain it into the FX return of my MB 500 and use that to power a second cab? I'm running currently GK fusion 800 into a Greebboy f212 at 4 ohm For big trouser bragging rights I'd like to slave this amp into the MB 500 to run my Greenboy f112 at 8ohm. No problem if no one has experience of this, cheers for looking Peace out!
15. Cheers guys, I shall get them ordered methinks
16. catswhisper will make split coils on request, I'm also pretty sure they will do a 5 string set on request. http://www.catswhiskerpickups.co.uk/bass.html
17. Hi, I had a set of these years ago but I can't for the life of me remember (I blame beer) if they were silent or not when soloed. I have a fretless warwick CV and can't be doing with the 60 cycle anymore so I'm looking to replace the pups to hum cancelled. Anyone have any that could shed some light please, ta
