  1. Luckily my hands are like Jeremy Beadles and have no chance of getting my thumb over the top of the neck.xxxxx
  2. I The only effect I know how to use is my fingers, if I want it a but more clankier I use a pick!
  3. just asking. For the last four years on here there have been loads of items way up North that I would have liked. I seem to recall a nice pair of orange cabs( Black ones? and a nice natural P Bass. On the 18th of june I have essential work to do in Scotland, first time I have ever been. So just thought I would see if anyone has some tat for me! I bet there isnt a thing, but on the 19th when I am on my way back a 1965 p bass will come up for sale for £3.00. 😆😅
  4. It is all together and playing rather nicely. Really pleased as this is the first neck I have done to completion. Tuning with the spalted beech neck seems stable, maybe the 2 6mm graphite rods are helping. I have resisted tearing the film off the pick guard and puting the screws in in case I need to tweak it at all. Thank for all the positive comments throughout the thread.
  5. Really like them all, the neck on the black one has a really nice patern to it.
  6. Got the neck painted and good news for me is that the Wilkinson machine heads fit. Not having to file them this time
  7. I have no woodworking skills at all, I am however a tradesman so can put a screw in a bit of wood etc, I think if you have basic diy skills you can do anything. I am now on my 3rd bass, I have learnt from my mistakes and each is getting better.
  8. Looked at some pictures on line and guessed it! I wanted the J pup in more of a seventies position.
  9. I just really like the look of pickguards, natural bass look odd to me without one.
  10. Got the frets in. Quite pleased with how they grabbed in the composite.
  11. Do you always paint before fretting? I have bern fretting then lacqeur. Git getting it off the frets!😥
  12. Went for a greyish stealth mop, so stealthy that you can hardly see them on the 3rd and 5th fret! Doh. Thats natural material for you. Might drill them out and try another two but dont want to mess things up!
  13. As above, 64mm pocket, nice and light probably paulina(spelling) £30.00 posted Fanks
  14. Leaning more towards the grey mop inlays, doing a shell ponk p bass next so might use the pink on that. Couldnt help a quick gratuitous mock up.😁
  15. It was one from this company. https://richlite.co.uk/pages/fretboard
  16. Done at last, cant see this fret board wearing out in my life time!!
