  1. These are great for bowing, some even like the pizz tone (short sustain, not much happening in the treble register, works for old school pizz sounds), but the main draw is the easy playability unser the bow and the rich arco sound.
  2. I am thinking 140€ shipped for the unused set of Kaplan light. Daddario Zyex light are sold (one set left).
  3. Used them for 2-3 days. https://photos.app.goo.gl/HMakZpFvuE2xzxKg8
  4. The bass comes with the originally supplied Human Base Gig bag. The switch ist for switching between active/passive mode. You can pull the volume switch to activate the Steve Bailey-preset for enhanced treble and upper mid frequencies. You also have a pan poti, bass and treble Control and, most importantly, a double stock poti that controls the mid boost or cut and lets you control the frequency range, which is very useful. I do not have the Bartolini pre, it was way less appealing than the Seymour Duncan pre.
  5. Wonderful bass, handmade in Germany by Siggi Jäger/Human Base. Birdseye Maple Body, Flamed Maple 5-piece Neck-Through construction, Ebony Fretboard, Bartolini Pickups, great tone. Steve Bailey Seymour Duncan 3-Band EQ, made especially for fretless basses. " The STC-3PSB provides bass and treble controls, a midrange control, a master volume, a blend control, and our special frequency contour switch. This preamp was voiced by Steve Bailey to have three bands of focused EQ, together with a switch that engages a frequency contour optimized to bring out fretless harmonics as well as mid-range boost. The frequency contour is engaged by pulling up of the volume control. We even added two small trim pots on the circuit board can be tweaked to preset the frequency contour EQ just the way you want." https://www.seymourduncan.com/pickup/steve-bailey-active-preamp-passive-voiced-3band The bass was converted to fretless by Human Base, the Bartolini EQ was switched out for the Seymour Duncan EQ. The bass comes with two birdseye maple ramps, one goes between the pickups, one goes between the fretboard and the neck pickup, both are removable. A standard Jonas 6 fretless is 3200€ new, the EQ was 180€. Pretty lightweight for a 6-string bass with a maple body at just 4,2kg. I recorded some quick videos with my mobile phone, played through my rig (Aguilar Tonehammer 350, 2xSL112). I am showcasing what I find to be the essential fretless sounds: Pickups panned a bit to the bridge, slight mid-boost. The second video has the "frequency contour EQ" enabled by pulling up the volume knob, the third video has the treble roll-off to make it sound more like an upright bass, I use this for Big Bands and Walking Bass lines).
  6. I usually play this particular bass with the panorama poti in the middle section, add a mid boost on the on-board EQ and also use the parametric mid boost on the Aguilar TH350. The bass sounds like a very nice 70s Fender Jazz Bass that way, very sweet mids without sounding too nasal imo.
  7. I am not a luthier, but I think you could dye the body very easily for not much money. A full refinish including taking off the old laquer is 300€, and just getting the body done without having to remove any finish has to me much cheaper.
  8. It is a Set-in neck, glued in like Fodera Deluxe basses or any Gibson/Les Paul type guitar.
  9. Built by hand in the Netherlands by Sander DeGier. 34", 18mm string spacing Flamed Redwood Top, Mahogany Body, High Gloss Finish 3-piece maple neck, Birdseye Maple Fretboard ETS bridge, Hipshot Ultralite Tuners Aguilar Preamp (3-Band), Häussel Big Mag Pickups Some signs of use in the finish, sounds and plays great. https://www.degierguitars.com/ https://www.facebook.com/degierguitars/
  10. Nice bass, actually incredibly good piece of equipment for the price. Barely used as I soon switched to 6-string basses. Can be strung E-C or B-G. Mahogany body, Ash top, Maple neck with multiple layers, 3-Band EQ with mid-sweep (3-way switch) and Bartolini humbuckers.
  11. Exceptional instrument, handmade by Nikola Adamovic in the Netherlands using prime woods and components. - white limba body - guariuba top - wenge tone plate - guariuba/wenge neck - zollernia finger board - scale length: 34,25" (killer B string) - weight: 3,9 KG / 8.6 lbs - stringspacing: 18mm - very, very low string action possible (due to a special fret work of Nicola Adamovic) - pick-ups: 2 x häussel bass bars - electronics: adamovic passive electronics: both pick-ups: parallel, in series and as single coils switchable + balance + tone control + volume (a lot headroom, very flexible.. the electronic compartement is big enough to add an active pre-amp, of necesssary) The bass was made in 2015 and is in very good condition. Original price was £4282, a new one ordered with the same specs sets you back £4600 / 5500€.
  12. BTW Pedulla stopped making basses. Few are left, once they are gone, no more!
  13. It don´t think that it takes more time, but it takes almost the same time to do a good Bolt-On Neck as it takes to make a Dovetail Neck joint- that is what a well-known luthier told me, anyway.
  14. The correct model name is Fodera Monarch 4 Bolt-On. "Deluxe" Fodera basses always have the dovetail neck joint!
  15. The bass is from 2004, so I get why newer models are offered for a bit more. Anyway, this is THE fretless to get, so I would have paid more to get my hands on it and as soon as I saw Nagas original offer, I jumped on it. It will be missed!
  16. I think I got it in a trade for a very nice Human Base fretless and a sizeable chunk of cash from the original owner.
  17. This used to be mine. Wonderful bass!
  18. The fingerboard radius is 13".
