  1. I'm not sure what the rule is for being a NYE gig literally. Blue
  2. Maple Road is confirmed for Early NYE gig @ The Precinct in Germantown, 4-7pm, right across the street from BarleyPop. I've played the place across the street " Barley Pop. And I've played an acoustic gig at The Precinct. But a NYE Maple Road show will be a first. Nice hours and a 25 minute commute. I'm hoping for a respectable turn out. Daryl
  3. NYE Hotel gig. Sounds nice to me. Civilised is always a plus. Lol Daryl
  4. Congrats, I hope it's a fun gig for all. Daryl
  5. Nice lighting, nice pics Pete. Daryl
  6. Share something about your upcoming NYE gig. First time playing the venue, you play there annually, what are the hours, the commute ect... Daryl
  7. Yes, very talented. Her husband does the booking and he's our dedicated sound & lighting engineer. Daryl
  8. Hi Dave, Yes, same lady. She's the founder and band leader for Maple Road & She's Right I'm Left . Daryl
  9. Cool, I like the threads. Daryl
  10. Weve been lucky. We don't deal much with volume issues. Most of our business is during fair and festival season. Daryl
  11. The acoustic show " She's Right I'm Left" will be back at The Harley Motor Restaurant this Saturday, 5:30-8:00. The Motor has always been good for us. Daryl
  12. Nice job Dave Daryl
  13. Fantastic! Daryl
  14. I get it. I'm new to working with smoke machines . I hope ours are water based like Dave mentioned. Daryl
  15. Nice job Moley. Sounds good. Daryl
  16. We recently made a huge investment / upgrades to our sound and lighting which includes smoke machines stage left and right. I'm totally into it. Daryl
  17. Cool, I've always been a big advocate for the two 10s configuration. Daryl
  18. Guys, when you read all these gigs stories like me you can see a trend and there's a bit of a consensus. Live full band bar/pub business seems to be in big trouble. For any of you in bands playing pubs it's going to be rough. Of course they'll be exceptions, but overall I don't think the future is bright Daryl
  19. This pic is from a summer 2023 gig. My 1993 G&L ASAT . Daryl
  20. Good move Bass Adder. No sense in going back to a bad venue. Daryl
  21. I know the feeling, If my band folded I'd never be able to find a new band and have it as good as I have it. Never. Daryl
  22. We can't impose band policies anywhere. The bar imposes their policies on us. Daryl
  23. Live bands in bars and pubs use to work and thrive here in Milwaukee now it's almost a dead scene. I think part of the problem is bars and pubs are not music venues. I went out Friday night to see a friend's band playing a local bar. People would come in with their friends and family have their Friday night " fish fry" chat and then leave. By 8:00 they were playing to 3 people. Daryl
  24. Good point, I'm always looking at things through my situation. Single, retired and I live alone. Daryl
  25. I'm not a great bass player, however I know how to pick the right band for me to play with and I'm pretty sure I know how to be in a band. My rule of thumb, always be positive and keep your mouth shut . Daryl
