  1. I know the feeling, If my band folded I'd never be able to find a new band and have it as good as I have it. Never. Daryl
  2. We can't impose band policies anywhere. The bar imposes their policies on us. Daryl
  3. Live bands in bars and pubs use to work and thrive here in Milwaukee now it's almost a dead scene. I think part of the problem is bars and pubs are not music venues. I went out Friday night to see a friend's band playing a local bar. People would come in with their friends and family have their Friday night " fish fry" chat and then leave. By 8:00 they were playing to 3 people. Daryl
  4. Good point, I'm always looking at things through my situation. Single, retired and I live alone. Daryl
  5. I'm not a great bass player, however I know how to pick the right band for me to play with and I'm pretty sure I know how to be in a band. My rule of thumb, always be positive and keep your mouth shut . Daryl
  6. Thanks Pete Daryl
  7. My rant; Just another thought for perspective. I'm 70 and I brag a lot about the fact that I'm still gigging 65 shows annually. However, it's because I'm in a good, smart band. Are we the best local band, no, but we're one of the smartest. We do things that are right for us. For those who follow my posts, you know I'm an advocate for good people over good musicians. I'm also into " good decisions ". For example, we've been around since 2007. We've been through the 3 gig weekends and the 4 hour bar gigs that are still prevalent in the States. When I say we're smart, I mean we're smart enough to know we've outgrown late night bar gigs. We've also avoided band drama and turmoil. Many of those band dynamics, drama, band turmoil and bad bookings contribute to guys giving up. It's not because they don't like gigging or being in a band but more not liking their particular negative band circumstances including age, medical and physical issues. I'll stop when walking on stage is no longer physically possible or no fun anymore. I can't really imagine it not being fun. Blue
  8. Dave,, Where can I get that Levi pouch? Link? Daryl

  12. How about this one: " What amp should I buy?" Blue
  13. Yes, while the extra money is crucial a gig is always going to be fun. Even the bad gigs. Having an extra $400.00 -$ 500.00 after a weekend is fun too. Daryl
  14. Very nice!

  16. Dave, I keep my Line 6 G50 transmitter in my front pocket . I have the strap clips, maybe I should switch over to clipping it to my strap? Daryl
  17. I remember the old days, back in the 60s. All we had was volume, bass and treble. Blue
  18. If you follow my posts, you know I'm not a " I'm not in it for the money" guy. Far from it. I need this extra money. I'm stashing away all my gig money to pay my annual property taxes. I've had gigs that I wasn't looking forward to. They become a "get out and go get that money" proposition only. Sad but true. Blue
  19. Here's a better video of Tennessee Whiskey. I hope this isn't a duplicate posting https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0A7vcWBLR8RgevNBYZGiPNivGmXbeW5aCWTEo7mJNoUwmASPwX8VN4CzYtccFo6h5l&id=1470144703&mibextid=Nif5oz Daryl
  20. Very nice. I've been playing wireless for the past 12 years. Wouldn't have it any other way. I'm not going to venture out into the audience like some guys, however I like the freedom wireless gives you. Daryl
  21. And guess what, the weather changed for the better the day of the gig. This is what we looked like inside. Not too bad. Daryl
  22. Love this clip. Great tone and great chops. Dave, you're really cutting through. Are you direct out and what amp are you using? Daryl
  23. Yeah, for most gigs it's either my ASAT or my 2005 MIJ 1951 Fender P reissue. Daryl
  24. That's my new girlfriend. And that is my smile . Lol🙂 Daryl
  25. Out of all the obstacles we all face I think poor turn out is the hardest to deal with. It is for me. Blue
