    In the States paying gigs are a lot harder to win. Start ups, originals bands and for fun bands are lass picky Blue

    Exactly, good bands are not always good at auditioning people. I remember completely nailing an audition and losing to a guy that cane to the audition unprepared, he didn't have reliable transportation either. He was a friend of the guitarist , he got the gig He had no experience and prooved hinself unreliable. He lasted 6 weeks and they fired him They still didn't want me. Blue

    Gigging at 60 plus can be really cool if your in the right space. Meaning proper gigs that pay and are fun. Blue

    I'm 64 Dave and I still want to gig as much as possible. Saw a few summer festival bookings come through today but overall I need more. 3 gig weekends is where I like to be. I say, why not gig till you drop dead.😁 Blue

    I would think a Rolling Stone package invoices out for at least million dollars. After all the agents are paid, 54 trucks and all the production, who knows what is left. However the lion's share go to Mick & Keith and then Ronnie as a full member gets a nice chunk. I would bet any other sidemen other than Daryl are walking away with anything between 3 and 5 grand.And that goes for Bernie & Lisa. It's still cool money for an hour and a half of work.     When I joined the band 6 years ago, the focus was to gig as much as possible. We were playing 70 gigs a year. Now, it seems like they want to cut back on gigs and I can't afford to do that. Blue

    I'm only experienced at certain aspects of playing. Keep in mind ,because some of us have been playing for decades on end doesn't necessarily mean we're all that experienced. To be honest I'd say my claim or real experience is understanding all the dynamics of band culture and how to be in a band. Definitely not the best bass player around. Blue

    I can't remember when I wasn't gigging. However I could be in your shoes in the not to distant future. Gigging is all I really have in life. I'm proactively looking for an intact established band with a decent book of business ( 70 gigs annually ) that's making money. No start ups, no originals bands. Blue

    Easy for who ? 😁 Trust rods, saddles all I've ever managed to do is screw things up. $60.00 gets me new strings and adjustments by an ace luthier. I use to do those sort of things when I was young and could see and think clearly. Blue

    Well I remember reading something about how Fender felt threatened buy the high quality of the Tokai copies. I'm probably the biggest fan of MIJ . If I ever see a Tokai bass I'm buying it on the spot. Blue
