  1. great choice. Wasn't that his fretless Sabre with an octaver?
  2. I was always told Live and Dangerous was one of the most over-dubbed live records in history....... Good to see at least one basschatter likes Shadows and Light Does anyone know who played Bass on the King Curtis Live album (recommend Soul Stew!)
  3. Derek's still got the same Cherry Burst Precision hasn't he?
  4. These are VERY good when added onto a compact suitcase (I have two). Really clean sound......great in conjunction with an effects board.
  5. I don't mean to hijack this thread for rock climbing interest, but that certainly doesn't look like North Wales. What a great picture!
  6. A great climb! Glad to hear there are a few lovers of the other Rock on basschat
  7. Answering my own question....no its not, the symbol on the Precision really gives it away. This was c 1982
  8. OK, I have found this interesting. I take it the bloke I took a picture of a long time ago was Michael Dempsey:
  9. Weighs exactly the same as my Wal II 5er. Beautiful bass. Wish I was right handed (with very long arms)
  10. Looks lovely! How much does it weigh?
  11. then of course there's this (fantastic bass line)
  12. As in: "infamy, infamy, this bass has got it infamy!"??
  13. I'd buy it if the kitten was included (Joke!)
  14. So Arcade Fire swap the drummer as well. Is this the latest thing in displaying musical ability (bah humbug!)
  15. https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2021/06/26/the-fearless-flyers-lost-my-treble-long-ago-live-at-msg/ Looking at this vid, it is slightly odd seeing Joe move and the bass not..... It looks a good arrangement though. Anyone else use bass (playing) stands?
  16. If it's any help, I used a bike box from halfords (double wrapped) to get it up to big thumb, and kept the side grab handles of the flight case exposed, so the courier could use them (With lots of 'this way up signs')
  17. Shouldn't it be "Asphixiates from Boston.....10 letters?" I am really enjoying this thread by the way
  18. My very favourite Abba track, for the reasons you say. Did his Hagstrom have Di Marzio pickups to help the sound?
  19. So to ask a daft question, that's a very flat sound for a Stingray. How did he get that?
  20. I think I was that previous owner, and this amp is a beast. I owned it and took care of it for c 25 years (I have since become acquainted with an Osteopath mind). Bigthumb was a great buyer too. Given the amount of love on Basschat for TE, this should find a home PDQ. GLWTS
  21. What a great thread (and I'm a cat lover)! How about Dalmitrie? (my sister used to bread Dalmies) Loving the Greyhounds by the way (my cats wouldn't)
  22. I think you could do with an Alembic Mark King
  23. It's a bit like Bass Chat's version of the National Gallery, that we really want all of Pete's babies to come to/stay in the UK. Perhaps hopeful UK owners of Wals could now apply to the National Lottery for grants. Now that would turbo-charge second hand prices! GLWTS
