Mel C was a bit good IMO.
That Fodera is sounding nice and punchy; shock, horror, the BBC mix bass so you can hear it! -

Yup. the Haim bassface is there!!!
Still not a patch on Gary Moore's guitar faces tho!!!
Or Joe Walsh. -
I see Mr Swift is using a singlecut Fodera.
EDIT: Beaten to the punch, doh! -

Doesn't matter, it's worth a watch for Haim's bass face alone!
The only reason it's on right now at Ez Towers. -

Blackstar HT-1R or HT-5R would be my choice. Brilliant little amps, and can put out a fair amount of noise if you ever wanted them to.
Guitarist chum of mine just got the 5R, he's very pleased. Fender Super Champ X2 is worth a look too. -
Oh the horror!

If Discreet offers you sweets, politely decline and walk away from him backwards. Welcome to the forum!

He's not wrong though
As to twin 'buckered basses for around £400, Ibanez SRX530 http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eb_page13.php?area_id=3&data_id=256&color=CL01&year=2013&cat_id=2&series_id=115
Oh and welcome, more new and young blood always welcome. -
Hello Chris. The first step is admitting you have a problem, so well done there. Step two is to give your gear away
-
Coo! I count 25, but my eye kept being drawn so there could be more. Nice

I'm getting a 'you do not have permission to view' on each of the results
It's a plot
MOO! -
Ooh that sounds rather good.

Schroeder and Mark Bass are are a very popular combination, I had an LMll with my 1212L and that was clean all the way up to max; a fairly transparent, yet warm tone, at least to my ears.

12 minutes from asking to answer; impressive knowledge.

Keep it AND buy a P J, you can't go wrong then

I remember many years ago I was looking at my first 5 string purchase but didn't know which way to go. There was a big, live, open air gig on the tv with lots of big names (I can't remember the event) but the all the bass players whose tone really stood out were playing Ray 5s, this decided my first 5 string buy and I wasn't disappointed; wish I'd've kept it, but then hindsight is a marvellous thing and GAS is a mean old S.O.B. -
In:
Phil Jones PB300
Ibanez SR1605
Out:
Mark Bass LMll
Schroeder 1212L
Pending out - Lakland 55-02 (curses on the 1 in 1 out rule) -
Thanks Jose; I knew you'd like your new one.

How far north?
Hmm something wrong with my notifications as I've only just seen this and I have been checking. A bit late now, sorry, but I'm up in Scotland, I didn't bring the bass as I hadn't seen any new posts and the car was a bit full -
More comfortable (for some); prettier finishes; oiled necks. Electronics are subjective, I think, as many prefer the tone of the SUB. I bought mine when they first came out and still have it (paint stripped off the neck now as it became sticky when it got shiny) but I had a 'full on' 'Ray which has since moved on; there is a certain something about the original SUB that, for me, makes it a keeper.
-
Ooh I say, I like the look of that.
-
I don't own an ACG but I imagine you want something that will let the natural tone of the bass shine through and pick up every nuance. The Phil Jones range is very accurate, articulate, clear and uncoloured to my ears.
-
When I was in GAK in Brighton a few weeks ago they had an Ibanez BTB (I think) 7 string.
-
I had one of those Red Knob lovelies, what great tones, both clean and driven; I should not have sold it.

Mrs Ez and I have wound down what we buy each other at Christmas and this year we're not buying anything for each other. I could be miserable and say that Santa is probably bringing me shredded nerves this year as we're spending it with the in laws and their kids (I work in a primary school and could do with a break from children frankly) but that would very Scrooge like (even though I've managed to it do anyway ). I did receive a pressie from my daughter and a quick feel revealed that it was a framed picture; I've been on at her that this is all we ever really want as we don't see her very often. So as we're away I opened it and I'm so glad I did......

I dunno, it doesn't not work for me, very Def Leppardish. I love the look of these basses and the way they shout, "John Hall can suck it!" they're too big a fish for his shysters to intimidate
