We used to do it when playing Hall & Oates', I Can't Go For That, as that would start with a drum groove, followed by me and everyone joining one at a time after that; it sort of made sense. However, we haven't been playing that song, so haven't done any 'meet the band' shenanigans unless someone has had a particularly up front performance in a particular song. I think the band intro is a nice thing to do as it is a moment for the audience to appreciate particular members of the band who might not otherwise get any recognition, particularly the rhythm section (unless they sing lead vox as well).

Blimey O'Reilly, Schnozzalee! You have quite the collection there; tasty.

People keep asking about the making of these basses are they from a factory.... Etc... I came across this video about the workshop on you tube.. Might be of some interest.. And answer some questions..
I'm genuinely blown away by that. I was expecting a CNC machine and much less work by hand. I feel very lucky to be getting one of their instruments and at such a good price for the work involved. -

Wargh! FedEx have now changed my delivery date from today to, "pending".
Probably be Tuesday at the earliest now. Flippin' FedEx,
That sucks. Still awaiting my 'shipped' email (funds need to clear I guess). I dreamt that it was delivered last night; am I excited? Could be. -
An Ibanez SR505 will cost around £525 new and even less used. This one at GG is a Japanese model, so expect better spec. Distance selling, 7 day try out period. http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars_detail.asp?stock=PX151224291842001

Ooh, I forgot, Rob Allen basses.

There are lots out there. As BassBus asked, budget is key. I had an Ibanez GWB35 that was very nice, but they make a more expensive version with 'better' woods and hardware (it's all subjective of course), the GWB1005. Then there is the Pedulla Pentabuzz. And then there is... the list could be quite extensive.

Holy crap! Text from FedEx saying expected delivery on Thursday morning.
Ooh, exciting times! I had Mrs Ez transfer the funds today (I should've paid for it all up front with the crap rate of exchange at the mo) so I'm guessing delivery next week sometime for me. -
Two lovely S fakers back to back; you are spoiling us.

@ezbass:Your Jay Bass is a Looker too. Goes a little bit in the oposite Direction. "Reduce to the Max", or is it Active 2-Band?
Anyway. Have Fun with your new Basses.
Totally passive with series/parallel/single coil switch. Now the wait for the funds to be transferred and the delivery to happen. -

They had at least 2 other hits - "I refuse" and "Looking for Linda" - the first is brilliant, the second a piece of sh*te...
They passed me by completely. -

I love the way it actually looks like it's got teeth.
That's exactly it. It looks like a real mean MF. -

What are the 3 pot for in your stingjay? Is it volume treble/bass?
Vol, tone, 3 way switch: series, parallel, single coil. It's all passive. -
The sofa shot has arrived!

2nd hand EBS Unichorus. Chorus, flange or pitch modulation. Wet/dry mix via a trimpot on the board. I've had mine for years; love it. There's one in the FS section right now http://basschat.co.uk/topic/257949-unichorus-ehx-hog-grand-orbiter-two-custom-cogs/page__p__3007778__hl__unichorus__fromsearch__1#entry3007778

Nnnngggg! I can't unsee that

Nothing wrong with basswood, Ibanez use it on a wide range of basses and guitars and it withstands having monster whammy bars being fitted and used.

Did anyone think the exhibitors were a bit thin on the ground? There seemed to be loads more the last time I was there.
I didn't go this year, but previously I had seen a year on year decline of those showing. -
I know one of the Shakatak singers well (she occasionally gets up and sings with my band) and George still uses that JD extensively.

Some scratches on the body and head - the bass?
-
Ergonomics, sound, looks, in that order. So in terms of looks (and to some extent ergonomics) I like a 2+2 head (or 3+1 at a pinch) a sparse looking control layout - not too many knobs - and a lightweight, but not too small body. Hmm, why do I play a Ric then?

That's just greedy, hand over one of those to me immediately, you'll thank me in the long run.
