1.
I used to hang an onion from mine which was the fashion at the time. Anyway, about my washtub. I just used it that morning to wash my turkey, which in those days was known as a walking bird. We’d always have walking bird on Thanksgiving with all the trimmings: cranberries, injun eyes, and yams stuffed with gunpowder. Then we’d all watch football, which in those days was called baseball.
If you dont start making more sense, we're gonna have to put you in a home......

  2. No not mine, i had it in my watch list just to see what happened - it's a sunburst i am after.

Fenders are a mystery to me, I would like a nice vintage precision but, as you can tell, I would probably get stiffed :)

if the neck had been totally refinished could that just be botched replacement decal?

  3.
The bass looks good. The thumb rest is in the correct position for the year. '73 '74 was a transition period for the whole thumb rest thing. But I do think its way over priced.

This one ain't too bad. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1973-FENDER-P-BASS-P...emZ190311352678

Not 100% original but it wouldn't bother me.
Not trying to hi-jack Happy Jack's thread but this one does it for me but what difference would/could the replaced pots make? I suppose irt could depend on the parts used even if it was genuine Fender parts?

  4. I have them all photographed with a note of the serial numbers etc and current value (in case of fire /burglary) and my daughter knows, if I peg it, to stick them on eBay, or indeed on here, for sale and what to expect to get for them.

I am 47 and on Tuesday last my best mate from school ( although we had lost touch since then) dropped dead from a stroke so it can all come sooner than you think.

  5.
that could be messy - iirc they're glued on the 20th,not fixed with screws.
Paint stripper hot gun and a chisel and that would off in seconds!!!

Of course I would have to come round and kill you for spoiling the best looking Ray I've seen in a long time!
