Is the eau d'garlic smell gone?

How would Leos later G&L ASAT compare to the original P?
I know the sound would be totally different having 2 big humbuckers but they were v similair in shape so I wondered how they compared playing wise?

I think the Yamaha BB series was as Iconic and as good as the Aria SB of the same era but just dont seem as popular now.
Would I be right that the 1200 and above was a thru neck?

I got my first one in 1981, new in Thomsons in Glasgow, for £112 I think.
This is the last of my collection of 4 but i no great f/less player.

The Bass Gallery had a f/less Paduak one I was interested in and when they sent me fotos of the rear that one had the back plates missing and was being sold as such.

They were on the bass when I bought it S/H - but they are not flush with the bass and on inspection suspect they are not original - in fact I'm sure of it now! but they do the job.

I am surprised also - although I think its a sign of the times.
However i suspect a lot of potential Wal owners are saving their dosh to see what is happening with the resurrected production.

Haven't been without at least one Wal in the arsenal since 1980

If you both sing and are half decent at it thats your biggest hurdle out the way IMO
of course the more people in the band, the more opinions etc etc.
Maybe once u establish urselves using the B/tracks u might get the urge to expand.

Nothing against backing tracks but you could be two thirds of the way to a full live band.
