I once took a natural Shergold marathon stripped off the crackled varnish then chamfered the slab body at the back and the front upper bout(?)then had Jim Egypt Guitars spray it Sparkle black and put a bad ass bridge on it. Hey presto! It looked surprisingly like a Wal - partly due to the big humbucker pickup.
I kept it til i traded it for a real Wal way back in 87. Been looking for it ever since if anyone comes across it.
