I'm a fan of Bass Direct. It's a small shop but they make up for it in the amount of quality basses they have in stock. I would definitely say it's for the 'new school' breed of bass players. No Fenders, no Ampegs/Oranges. I think a few of these comments on the thread have been exaggerated just a touch!

I'm looking into getting a overdrive pedal to get some 'grit' into my sound - how much bass loss does this have when turned on?

Hi there, 11 years spent playing the bass and I discover this website! Usually play in originals bands but currently out of the game having a small break. My main axe is a Sadowsky 70s Jazz copy with La Bella flats. Big fan of Bass Direct where I've bought too much stuff over the years! Looking forward to using this site and seeing what the UK bass community has to offer.
