Hi there, For sale or trade 2 envelope filter pedals. I don't use them, I'm not all that keen on 'em in truth so moving them on. They were £30 each posted off this forum so would just ask for the same back. Any interesting swaps considered First up Electro-Harmonix Russian Bassballs. This one has a headphone jack style power supply input but I have an adapter that makes it work with a Boss style PSU which I'll include in the sale. (You can also use a 9v battery) Second one is a DOD 25B Envelope filter. This one has a Boss style PSU socket or you can use a 9v battery. They are both fully working and in fairly decent nick, not too many bumps or scratches. I HAVE noticed however, when you switch off the Bassballs pedal there is a little residual effect still there occasionally so bear this in mind if interested, I'm not asking daft money though. Here are a couple of photos>>>>>>>>>>v Cheers Gary

Jack socket for Japanese Fender Jazz Bass
Mzungu71 replied to Mzungu71's topic in Repairs and Technical
You'd be better off replacing it with a metal one – since it's much less likely to break again in the future! AxesRUs have a version that look like it'd do the job: http://www.axesrus.com/axeElectronicsJacks.htm#JackPlates They come with a replacement socket, but there's no need to replace the one that's there (if it's still working).
Thanks for all the replies, apologies for apparently posted this thread twice d'oh! -
Hello, I need to get a new part for my bass. Please see the attached picture. as you can see it's the plate holding the input jack that has broken meaning I need a new one. It's black (my bass is the Japanese All Blk model) Anyone know where I can get hold of one and if i need a whole new assembly. Thanks PS the silver bits are just from the gaffer tape which has been manfully holding the assembly together for the last few days, Thank God for gaffer tape

Hi all, I've gone and <Shock Horror!!> joined an Oirish diddly folky type group Mostly cos I love that sort of stuff and also because it's something different to your normal, rock/punk stuff I play in other bands. What I'd like to do is get myself a nice acoustic bass, preferably electric/acoustic that sounds good both acoustically and through an amp. I'm not looking to spend a load of cash either, mostly cos I aint got much ;( I currently play a Jap All Blk Fender Jazz which I love, so would also prefer a jazz style neck (I know, moon on a stick here). So you guys have never let me down before, recommendations please I'd probably want something fairly cheap to kick off with in case I hate playing an electric acoustic and get stuck with it,I imagine they might be a bit niche and hard to shift? Cheers Gary
Keep an eye on eBay. There's usually a few that go for sub-£400, i saw a nice battered old proline go for lower a while ago. I got my fortress for £250 and there was a stained Corvette from the same seller at £400 If i had the money i'd buy them all!
I keep an eye out, one of these days, I have a rather lovely all black Japanese Fender Jazz though so it keeps me happy

<Oopooh thats one of the sexy All black ones with rosewood fingerboard right?> The very same <i am not surprised it doesant have the usual country of origin sticker, just because it has a painted neck. Trust me its a genuine fender, year? Unsure.> Thanks, it's definitely a beauty that's for sure <If you ever want to move it on let me know ;-)> ;-) Well chief, I am deeply in love with this bass, so the short answer is, Don't hold your breath Thanks for taking the time to post everyone, it's much appreciated BTW I have emailed Fender direct and hopefully they can let me know, although some guys are saying the scammers on ebay use serial numbers with lots of 0's in them. This one just plays too good to be a fake i'd say
-
It doesn't say CIJ or MIJ on the bass, in fact it doesn't mention the country of origin. I do, however, have the original Japanese certificate of purchase (guarantee) and so it does appear as you said that it was not an export model, rather one that's worked its way out of Japan via the second hand route. Thanks all for your assistance, think I can rest easy now

Evening bass chatters. Been looking at the serial number on my Japanese made Fender Jazz Bass. Bought off the Bay of Evil a while back and it was advertised as a 2002 model. The serial number is P030402. According to the fender UK website P + 6 digits = 1993/1994 P + 5 digits would put it as 199/2002 which would fit in with how the bass was advertised. Also the serial number is at the base of the neck and appears to be a transfer. The guitar plays really well, it certainly feels genuine. Have my doubts now though! What do you guys reckon?
Has to be. I've had the 5-string version for years now and they only came in Silver, black or red.
To be honest fellas it looks like it might be a transfer of some sort. It seems to have an "edge" around parts of the outline so I wouldn't want you to think it was a great paint job when it might not be. paradoxically other parts of it have no "edge" and it does indeed look like a paint job but I'd presume not if I was buying Cheers
Hi mate Have you done a "search" for MIJ and CIJ? There are several threads about the differences.
Hi, no not on here, have on the wider web though will see what i come up with Thanks
Simple answer... One was made before the other!
Cool, so no real difference then, presumable MIJ are older?

Afternoon all, I've had a look round the net but can't quite seem to find what i'm lookin for so thought you knowledgeable ladies and gentlemen would be able to help. Could someone (in words I can understand) explain the difference between Made in Japan and Crafted in Japan for Fender basses? Is there a difference in quality? Thanks Gary
