Well this is escalating quickly! Got the octave issue addressed courtesy of @ricksterphil.
I need another tuner for me and some form of distortion for the kid so I can have my Zoom back 😂
The lad is pretty darn good at this bass stuff - he’s joined a local rock school club type thing (Rock Project), so hopefully will be gigging soon.
So I’m answer to my original question; no, you can’t do RB sounds on the cheap 🤦🏻♂️

That’s a lot of cymbals!

How did I miss this?!?! Awesome as always, @Maude!
Are you bringing any of your basses to the SW Bass Bash?

A cheapy, but I love it.
90s Encore. Some lovely grain under the trans Red. Levelled, crowned and polished the frets, rolled the fretboard edges, popped in a Tonerider pickup and some old chromes.
A joy to play.
Any more projects in the pipeline, @Maude? I love a good Maude build.

The only reason I can see for building two is so you can also use them as an absolutely banging pair of hifi speakers.
Unfortunately, Mrs Turgh does not share my vision.

Like the come down from doing a quarter ounce of cocaine plus how you would feel the next day after getting drunk and accidentally having sex with your sister.
I can’t say I’ve ever felt that bad, but that is a top quote, and should be pinned somewhere. Or carved in to a stone tablet and visited by tourists.

I have the chrome version of that, but it’s presently on my son’s pedal board, so I might need another.
And that is a rather fetching colour!
If it’s still unsold by the SWBB, I’ll take it off your hands.

I’m no expert, maybe one or two notches past beginner, but I’d want the toms grouped a bit tighter together with the smallest tom positioned above the snare.
Maybe pop the 8” & 12” on the bass drum and use a cymbal mount drum thing for the 13”?

That do be nice. Are you doing the same to the front of the body?

A very modest increase considering - happy to pay it!
Will ping you some funds when I get paid Friday 👍- 1

128dB?! Should do the trick!

Oh my gosh. Sorry to hear what you’ve been through. Glad you are ok, though. Things can be replaced.

Some of the jags in the past were fitted with a Jazz style bell plate (the standard, nicely symmetrical one). Would the routing one these allow for fitting of such a plate?

Major re-acquisition pangs! Have you darkened the fretboard? Looks better than when I had it!
-
Stack the cabs vertically, too - better horizontal dispersion and you’ll hear it better.

It’s still here waiting for you!
Don’t hold on to it just for me, mate! I’d buy it back immediately but things keep popping up 🤪

I sold my Squier CV Mustang to buy a bass I’d been after for a while. Asked the chap I sold it to if I could buy it back, then got kicked in the financial gonads with a car-related bill. No Mustang reunion for me!

Amazing ... I've an aim of building all my own kit (Bass mostly done, effects system progressing nicely) and a cab is on the list, this is inspirational in that respect!
Should be a walk in the park for you! Loving your build diaries!

My mum just had a big ash tree cut down in her garden. I thought “ooh! I could make a bass body!” So asked her to ask the tree guy to save me a bit. I didn’t specify cut, so I’ve been given cross sectional slices 🤦🏻 about 18” - 20” in diameter.
Is this completely useless for the purpose of a bass body?
Can I do Royal Blood with just a Zoom pedal? Answer: No! 😂
