Hi Folks
for those who don't know, John Bramwell is the front man with I Am Kloot, Manchester 3-piece with about 6 albums behind them.
This is part of a solo tour John is doing, and we get to support on this occasion.
Check out I Am Kloot's stuff (www.iamkloot.com) great, soaring indie with that fantastic Manc twang.
The New Moon is an acoustic psyche-pop duo with occasional guest flute and percussion players.
It will be quite dear to get in (£10? or so) and doors should be around 8-8.30
say hello if you do make it!
Cheers

As promised earlier, pictures as requested of the refinished Jack with Humbuckers (passive and FRETLESS! )

And the back:

BTW, the cavity cover is made of elm, the original plastic one was missing when I got it
I'd do this one for £150 I guess. -
Photos please!
Looks like it's a fretless though...
Yes, it has no frets, sorry, I didn't make that clear!
BOTH REMAINING JACK BASSES ARE DEFRETTED. One has lighter lines than the other.
They both have a nice organic woody sound.
I'll put up some more pics tonight. -
Pretty colours?

"You all know what it is, it is the great big guitar version, about 2 years old but hardly used. I bought it mainly to be a monolithic pressence on my pedalboard, but then I discovered I had no room for it, and I don't like fuzz."
That made me laugh, one of the most comprehensive reasons for selling a bit of kit! -
I'm looking to sell my refinished passive be-humbuckered one as well. It is done in Tru-Oil and feels nice but there were some marks and stain that didn't quite come out fully.
It has had a couple of alterations done too but has a very wide range of tones and a passive tone pot that REALLY does a LOT!
It is wired VVT with a 3 way switch added, and the jack socket relocated to the front (good for playing sat on the sofa...)
I'll send you pics if you like. Maybe I should start a new thread for this one. It is peeking out from behind the other 2 in the photo at the top. -
^^^^ ... actually, that didn't quite come out how I meant it! No offence intended (kersnurk kersnurk!)
-
Bump for defretted back on sale, as OldSlapper could only take the one in the end.
-
Sold John a Jack Bass Custom, paid me well up front, communicated well throughout. A total gent.
Recommended.

The mastering must be good -that sounded LOUD!
Speak to Watford Valves, also check their website which will help you. When I changed mine I went for a slightly higher wattage than the original to give a bit of headroom but it still drives just as well.

Same combo I've got (selling soon to my guitarist)
What's wrong with the speaker? If it's just a tear in the cone you can fix that easily.
Failing that, I've also had good service from Watford Valves. -
This looked like it might be sold, but it's all gone quiet, so BUMP for the weekend!
-
If you like that tone, you'll probably also love:
The bass at 1.36
This thick sort of tone doesn't really make it on to recordings much these days. -
If it is the same as the one in the picture it's quite an old model and I think you'll struggle to get that price.
Good luck with the sale though. -
correct, not DI
There is also a Si/Ge switch which I found no use for, an input pad pot to tame fierce active basses and a lot of clean boost available to overdrive old style valve amp front-ends if that's your thing.
PM me your email address and I'll send you some sound clips if you like.
I don't think this is a current model - I got it off t'Bay a couple of years ago and barely used it.
It also sounds quite nice with a guitar...
Cheers

Thanks Mr. Pirate but I'll decline. I own 2 Wahs (somewhere!) and expecting an M80 to arrive any day now.
Dear Santa or wife
I have a big one, I think I need more
How does this sound (apart from loud) , where would (could) I use it other than for demolition jobs?
Peavey CS3000 or QSC PLX (for the rich) power amp, big one followed by a spare 3 big ones for those larger than average venues - should drive 1500 watts rms into each pair of big ones (two each side of drummer).
cost approx £550 + 4 x £675 = £3259
What pre amp should I use?
Alex, what SPL will I get?
Best wishes from a happy big one owner (possibly the first second hand owner?), just want three more of the same.
Do you play in a Motorhead tribute band?
