  1. Yep, that’s the one! I did a gig through the Mackie version and was great. I wondered if this would be ok. The Bose is lovely but not sure I can justify it.
  2. The sound is something else. Proper deep bass. I’m going to see if I can get the frets sorted if it doesn’t sell this week and maybe it’ll become a keeper.
  3. It’s all good. I never started as a chin stroking jazz fan. I learnt most of my bass riffs stuff playing along with “and out come the wolves” and working through Operation Ivy (and from there through the Epitaph records stuff and more) and then into harder stuff and from there, I’m still learning I guess! Less into me punk stuff anymore but I do like heavy rock. Mastodon and Earthless are artists I really enjoy. I’ve seen Metallica several times too. Anyway, long way round to say that Blink 182 were never considered authentic to me, more like kiddie pop punk. It’s hugely popular of course, and perhaps that’s the point.
  4. Looking for a battery powered FRFR speaker. The Mackie looks great but this is £100 cheaper, Does anyone have an opinion on either/both? https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Behringer-B1C-Battery-Powered-Portable-PA-System/682H?origin=product-ads&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_kjLRxu0CydeNxbiI3o_-j5ZQIm&gclid=CjwKCAjwx4O4BhAnEiwA42SbVEaz9H3GDy-GzCBJiXEzgtQpl_hYixRC0I_OuorNf24r4f4M4jOkgRoCtFEQAvD_BwE
  5. I had no idea either. Fair play to him, it’s a cool bass.
  6. That’s what I was quoted as well. Gibsons are notorious for low profile frets and this one is no different. Its a toss up between selling it at a fair price and getting it done and then probably keeping it. Let’s see what the market decides!
  7. And Cort basses are, by and large, good. I’m the end, all manufacturers will have problems. These basses clearly should have gone back to the manufacturer but through some chicanery were probably left with the retailer at a massive discount. I have no vested interest in Cort but I’d like at the retailer here.
  8. Guitar Guitar are knocking these out at £200 less than Thomman. Why? Because they’re all likely to be customer returns, warranty repairs or something else. I’m not criticising the OP as these are all advertised as brand new, no issue basses but they’re clearly not. This is duplicity on the case of the seller and should be called out. But when something appears too good to be true there’s usually a catch…
  9. I’m guessing the fret issue is causing a bit of concern here. I have two options: get this sorted myself or sell it at a price where you can have the confidence to do so yourself. How about £1650 as a weekend deal. That’s nearly a grand under what a shop would sell this for.
  10. They’re not an old school amp manufacturer, they just bought the brand. This could be a cool little amp.
  11. Did a 3-set, sit-down jazz and blues gig at a swanky bar. Clientele didn’t seem too intestates but we earned the most money we have ever done as a band.
  12. Agreed. I've got two gigs that way this weekend (The Library and outside Mother's Ruin). Neither is a good load in or out. I park the other side of Bristol bridge and walk across as it's easier than trying to drive into town.
  13. That's great! Caught my daughter playing with my vintage bass yesterday. Was quite proud.
  14. I have been very negative about vintage basses here, and I still don't buy that they're all good. But there is something in this one you simply don't get with new ones. I will admit I was wrong.
  15. Pic from tonight’s gig. Fallen back in love with the old 66-er.
  16. Hi Phil, it most certainly is. I was just playing it literally a minute ago. I’m based in Bristol (but just driving to Cheltenham for my first gig of a 3-gig weekend!)
  17. Feel free to use the pics. I can attest that this used to be mine. We handed over in person at the height of the pandemic. Its a stupidly good bass.
  18. Now £1795. I need this gone. Must be the cheapest one of these out there...
  19. Sold a bass on there that wouldn’t sell here. No fees, instant payment and the cash is now in my bank. Well done EBay!
  20. We’re not here to make a profit, but to make good music…
  21. None at all. It’s a very lightweight -and we’ll balanced bass. I actually use it with straplocks so that may have an impact but overall it’s a lovely bass
  22. Does this come with any sort of case?
  23. You didn’t say what you were looking for 🙂
  24. Now £1599. I can't do this any cheaper and will keep it if I get no interest this time.
  25. The guitarist in my band has a residency there. Parking is a nightmare in Bristol centre (as I’m sure you know!). The crowd in there can be very boisterous. He’s experienced fights, smashed glasses and bashed equipment. Just look after yourself and stay vigilant I guess.
