  1. Having recently bought one of these (new!) I can confirm they are really very good. Impeccable craftsmanship, great feel and great tone. Really lovely preamp that is seemingly impossible to get a bad tone out of. GLWTS sir!

  2. @prowla, he’s a chancer.

He’s said he’d refund you tonight, but apparently delivery has been attempted...but logically only one of these could be the case, surely? If he actually had posted it then he wouldn’t be offering a refund as he’d no longer have the goods in his possession. It simply doesn’t add up. He’s just frantically adding lies on top of lies to try and get you off his back.

  3. @prowla I remember reading a very similar story on Facebook Marketplace a few weeks back - not sure if it was you who posted it but all the details are the same (saying he sent the item, no evidence, claiming his daughter sent it etc)

If it wasn’t you then it would seem that this guy is a definite chancer as he’s clearly feeding the exact same story to multiple buyers!

  4. Of course the Neural team will have looked at the current crop of top modellers and FX units to see what worked and what didn’t. It was inevitable that we’d see some Helix influence given that Helix is considered by many to have the best UI out there.

The Neural UI has some “Helixish” elements for sure but there are a lot of differences too, due to the fact that Neural had to design a system which was 100% touch friendly. The Helix development team deliberately avoided going the touchscreen route, and so made their UI as user-friendly as possible with good old fashioned knobs and buttons as the primary input method.

  5. Well, a lot has certainly been said about the symbols!

Have to say the hieroglyphic knob labels make a lot of sense to me. Whether you’re familiar with the symbols for sawtooth and square waves is irrelevant.

The pedal enclosure couldn’t be more clearly divided into 3 sections so *at most* you’ll only be thinking about 4 knobs at any one time for each. The top row of each drive section is just gain and volume, bottom rows being EQ shaping. Once you know these basic rules of thumb it’s a walk in the park. And I don’t even own the thing.
