  1. One of the best straps I've ever used - tied for 1st place with my Dingwall leather racing strap. If you like the Comfort Strapps, these are similar to those but with a more "deluxe" look and feel. This is wider with leather appointments and metal buckles rather than the plastic used on the Comfort Strapps. I'm honestly tempted by this myself but I have too many straps as it is! GLWTS

  2. Beautiful bass! I've never seen one in this colour before.

On the last tour I was on a few months back (I'm a theatre actor) our bass player had a dep covering a couple of performances. He turned up with one of these and I got to hear him play a bit while our sound guy sound checked him - it sounded incredible through our huge touring FOH rig. Clarity, richness, punch. And now I have GAS

  3. So I've been chatting to Chris at Alpher (Pheral!) asking some questions about these new beasts. Here's what I've learned:

    - The price will be £1495, which includes the lovely metallic finishes shown in their instagram post. Natural oil finish is also available for the same price if preferred. This is a lower price point than the rest of the Alpher line with fewer options available as a result.

    - There are three pickup types to choose from, all made by TV Jones. The "Thunder Tron", "Thunder Mag" and "Thunder Blade" - The Mag is a P-style pup whereas the Tron and Blade are humbuckers. The differences between them can be seen & heard at https://tvjones.com/bass-pickups . I'm loving the sound samples!

    - Wiring layout for basses with with either the "Tron" or "Blade" installed will be Volume, Tone and a coil tap switch. On basses loaded with the "Mag" it'll be Volume, Tone and a kill switch.

  4. Any version of the Polytune is the answer - I have the mini pedal and a couple of clip ones. All are excellent - and the “poly” function can be easily turned off so it only ever “looks” for single notes. Incredibly accurate and stable tuners, worth every penny. I wouldn’t use another tuner tbh.

  5. Bought new last year and used twice for a remote voiceover project, then put back in its box where it has remained ever since.

This is the bundle which comes boxed with Aston shockmount and “Swiftshield” pop filter - though the base of the mic itself has a built-in 3/8” screw thread so it can be mounted directly to a stand without a shockmount necessary.

Collection in London preferred but happy to post if required.
