  1. Left here for past touring in the U.K. and Europe, time to ‘go home’ now……the Mono case is a double thick padded most expensive one that will be boxed.
  2. I will be trying to direct the owner to take on the majority of work towards getting his US made guitars home. I can facilitate by being home to pass the package on or to someone flying over there.
  3. I’ll look into them, thanks.
  4. I have done that thanks….I’m looking for any Basschat experience as a helping hand. If a link is given I can send it to the USA.
  5. I may be sending two guitars back to the owner in the USA, inside a Mono dual bag.Insurance is a must as they are worth a few grand. I've looked at a couple of places online, the DHL site didnt promise an easy way and another site only insured £2000 maximum. Whether the owner gets hit with tax or not isn't a problem (for me) as he will have to give proof of ownership along the way. Any ideas, sites etc would be appreciated, especially if one of you has successfully shipped to the USA.
  6. I have one, it is very good, possible to plug in your mic for your volume and eq and then a line out to the main PA ….it took me a while to sort that out. I position it on a low mic stand about 3 feet away facing upwards to me/my mic.
  7. Yes! Percy Verence won in the end. Thanks for supporting John. Tanya sent your correspondence to me to show distribution was now going though whatever Proper will be like will be another matter. Hope you enjoy, tell the world even 😃
  8. After a few emails from me to MIG in germany they have just informed me that UK distributor 'Proper Music' have re-started distribution....hopefully your local shop can now order it for you?
  9. It does seem to be down to the driver attitude…pre Evri it was called Hermes and our local driver was without blemish and was seen on the road all day doing local deliveries, stuff arrived when it was supposed to.
  10. Jimothey.....Not Flatwound.....as printed on the box...."Bright Tone Roundwound". For me they are not as roundwound 'rough' as some makes. No pictures because each B string for sale is still sealed inside each box....Thanks
  11. I'm just today dealing with an email back from the German record company telling me that Proper Music are not distributing the CD anymore....nobody told the band....as usual! Please let me know if rough trade can get one from Proper Music in case they had some left. Apologies from the band but not for Proper Records or MIG !
  12. No further reply from MIG yet.....did you try your shop at all whether they can or cant find it through Proper?
  13. Apparently the UK distributor has them in stock....'apparently'...if and when you are passing your record shop ask if they can order one....I'm told there are two sites for seeing available stock, the one we see and the one retailers see so maybe your store can make a n enquiry?
  14. Micky……Ye gads, a front room playing experience and for money 🤣
  15. MIG got back to me and they are investigating their UK distributor 'Proper Music' as they, like me, cant find it on the 'Proper' website page. MIG told me it is on Amazon which doesnt help you.....more to follow but I would have hoped you could order from a record store.
  16. I’m flattered 😀. thankyou. The CD is re- released by M.I.G. a German company… I've just emailed MIG to find out who they are using for distribution in the UK. MIG Music is on Facebook….Visitor will be on those pages along with a short sound track video I made for them, I couldn’t copy it across from FB. Good luck…it still sounds er, um, busy!
  17. Macassar ebony fingerboards on my own make of fretless basses, D’Addario XL roundwound strings, no problems, the occasional sanding of the fingerboard once in a blue moon, much like any guitars’ reset of frets/fboard. Practice scales and sing along with them, you’ll see how your tuning is then! This was old advice from my very reputable double bass tutor many years ago.
  18. Good combos...I also ended up using mine as a vocal monitor!
  19. NEW post addition..........Anyone wanting all four of them? I'll cut the pricing down to £23 includes UK postage...I don't want them going to waste.....or £5 each plus post. £8 for each B string single .... I have four individual B strings all taken out of five string sets as pictured. I'm only using the E to G strings from these sets so these B strings are new/unused. £8 per string plus postage.....maybe a deal if you buy all four strings.
  20. My parcel was almost ripped to shreds across the top of the package showing the bubble wrap lining. It has obviously caught on sorting machinery or run over!
  21. Evri 'not a delivery' but left outside the gate in the rain, ripped open and badly torn, no wonder the driver 'chucked and ran', thankfully the order of the cable is robust and inside its own plastic bag. Purchase company advised not to use in future (expensive parts, mics etc would have easily fallen out). I was surprised my name/address label was still intact. I did have a decent Hermes driver before who delivered to our door, not any more.
  22. I wonder if any Basschatter has my old Gibson Les Paul bass….I had ‘Knight Guitars’ in Weybridge Surrey change the neck to a new long scale, a bass clef insert was added at the 12th fret and they used the original headstock veneer too. It was great job, as if it came from an original Gibson build.
  23. I swapped a Gibson EB3 tobacco sunburst for a Ricky 4001 stereo and just didn’t get on with it so I sold/px it in for a Gibson Les Paul bass and then I had Dick Knight (RIP) replace the the neck to a long/34” scale neck with bass clef inlay at the 12th fret (was I the first to have that sort of inlay done?).
