1. To be honest, most sequencers have a 'humanise' function for a reason. If something is too perfect I find it a bit disconcerting.

Fender Jazz S1

Back when I was still using mine regularly I found it sounded more P-ish, but I could tell the difference, and I've got crap ears. I used to use it with effects, and when recording on the computer (damn CRT hum!), but it was more of an interesting feature than something I used a lot.
3. Depeche Mode in May! Man, that's ages. I need to see more live music : /
4. To be honest, after seeing Blues Brothers I know that any group worship sing-a-long thing is always going to be a let down. Unless they manage to re-animate James and wheel him out to Essex, I guess.
5. I've gotten on fine with this one from EMU. The AD converters are supposed to be good for the money, and it had the input options I needed. The latest version of the drivers say they work with Vista, but I can't vouch for them.
6. Where did all these Wilhelm Scream fans come from all of a sudden? +1 ; )
7. I'm in two minds. The geek in me finds it interesting, but my inner aesthete can't see the point if it sounds like arse ; )
8. /wave from Chelmsford!
9. PM'd, in case this is still available
10. The stuff about moisture in the wood is interesting, as I was talking to one of the guys from Soundslive recently who is a real Stingray fan and he said that he could tell how good the tone was going to be on a batch of 'Rays by seeing how heavy they felt. If they were seemed weighty then the wood wasn't dried out and the tone wouldn't be as good. I've got to admit that I kinda discounted it as voodoo at the time, but now I'm beginning to wonder : )
11. Is this still on the market, or were the second thoughts too much? ; )
12. I've just moved so I'm currently bandless, but the old band I was with would put in a three hour practice once a week (including setup time) and then maybe the odd hour-long impromptu acoustic bash. I found those the most useful, to be honest. Forces you to tighten your playing up when you're not hiding behind a wall of noise : )
13. Style by Orbital was almost entirely made from Stylophone samples, if I remember right.
14. If you're keeping the stock list earlier in the thread updated, then the Black Cherry Euro LX from Sheffield is now winging its way to Essex!
15. Man, that's tempting. I've been looking to get something with a bit more growl than my Jazz and then this goes and happens : / Will these guys deliver?
