1. I wasn't but I could, obviously it wouldn't be a straight trade but if you want to hit me up with an offer I'm sure we can come to an agreement. Cheers
2. Bump, not sure I can even be bothered switching to Apogee, used this bad boy last night to learn some songs and it's so versatile as practice setup
3. Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm thinking of getting one for my 30th next year and want to take the time to find the model that's right for me. Is anyone open to me maybe making a trip to try their B-15? Many thanks in advance
4. Finally pictures For those wanting to read a bit more about it http://www.tayste.co.uk/2013/02/02/my-basses/
5. An update to this thread, got a blog going about my basses especially since I just picked up my 5th Overwater. Check it out here http://www.tayste.co.uk/2013/02/02/my-basses/ For those who can't read, here are the pictures.
6. I think for the cost of the drop head I'd like to get a vintage b-15 but that's a whole new can of worms
7. Just preference and I tune a minor 3rd below Low B so a nice big speaker would be a plus
8. Yeah I saw that and was thinking it could be perfect, I'd consider that light about as heavy as my amp head Similarly the Ampeg B100r would tick all the boxes but both are discontinued and not really in a position to act fast on it (also want to try one first)
9. So I've been a bit out of the game on this side, rocking the Matamp GT200 and 8x10 for the past few years but I'm looking at changing a few things largely around jamming and home practice and fancy a small (ish) light weight (ish) combo I was always wowed by the size and weight of the Mesa Boogie Walkabout (12inch version) so that might be a good starting point, but not really sure what's out there. I do think the following applies though:

Has to be 1x15 or 1x12
Going for a vintage styling to a degree
Has to had a tube somewhere in it or sound fairly vintagey (so no spanky clean highs and nothing with a tweeter)
Has to be a combo, not interested in light weight cabs and heads
Just weighing up my options before I see what Matamp can do me in a combo, because weight is the concern but happy to go like 30kg or so in the combo. Over that I know exactly what I'd track down (Mesa Buster 200 1x15 Combo)
10. FFS After any trades at all? *EDIT* Ignore that I read the post properly. Dammit
11. I would use the term focus'ed there is a lot of power in thoser Overwater preamps, so it can be quite bright or really bright or massively subby But http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/sounds-most-vintage-657829/ See this for what you can do with the right strings I sold all my vintage basses having heard this with flats. It's only for sale really because I'm buying an Overwater Fretless this weekend and this just doesn't get paid, might even sell another Overwater 5 I have....... maybe
12. You'd think wouldn't you.
13. Bump because I'm ordering a Minimat soon Cheers
14. Been raving recently about how good the Ipad is for music but overspent this month and was going to sell anyway to pickup an Apogee interface. Mint condition comes with the Ipad 2 & 3 sleeve, this is very important because while they should ship with a Ipad 3 sleeve, often you're buying old stock from a shop. Also I've got 2 power supplies for this bad boy, my band were using it live with the IEM rack so I got one to put in the rack and one to keep at home, it makes it very easy to go from home to practice without having to mess around with cables. Great device, can't fauly it at all just I have a need for an interface I can use on my mac and my iPad. More info can be found here. http://www.alesis.com/iodock £130 ono Cheers
15. Couple of things I'm not using. Digitech PDS 2700 Double Play Bit tatty in condition and missing the battery door, but it's a stereo delay from the 80's/90's the smaller brother of the Digitech Multiplay which is a very popular pedal amoungst the likes of Juan Alderete. Can do a nice chorus sound or delay or both. The best feature however is the hold feature where you hold the second pedal down and it repeats that time length infinitely without oscilating, but then you can use the time knob to pitch shift this up or down. Further more just using the standard delay oscilation is possible and it's not wildly out of control. Great noise maker and not as sparkly clean as more modern digital delays. £70 ono Aria Flanger Odd little 80's gem again favoured by Juan Alderete, features two modes so you can have a slow and fast flange in a single box, some very cool ray gun noises available. £40 ono Catalinbread Chili Boost Great clean/fat boost, not a whole lot to say, very clean pedal, think I've got the box lying around just not using it much. Also note this model is not discontinued the new ones are clean boost only and not the prefered for bassists fat boost. £65 ono No trades thanks
16. I'm interested, is there an evening this week that would be good for you? Maybe drop me a PM? I'm only in Manchester but my guitarist is in Liverpool. Cheers
17. Bump incase anyone is now flush with cash post Xmas
18. But the benefit of the Apogee's are yes it's an interface for iOS but it's also a fully fledged interface for a PC or Mac, where as the Alesis does nothing when plugged into a computer.
19. Apogee just announced all their interfaces will be iOS compatible so thats the Jam, One, Duet and Quartet I have an Alesis IO Dock and will be selling it for a One or Duet depending on what I decide. Amp sim wise Jamup with the additional bass pack is the best, but Amplitube isn't bad just don't expect a lot of updates for bass.
20. It's a fair comment, given the colour of this bass someone could easily mistake this for one of the Contemporary Series Additionally as someone who own 4 Overwaters and is about to grab a 5th, the Tanglewood basses are nice but compare to 2.5-3k custom uk built bass they are low end, certainly lower end
