  1. 150 for a Brown Dog?!? I always miss the mad bargains 😥
  2. More TikTok, than Instagram. A lot of songs get huge viral exposure these days through TikTok videos, and so if a song has a short, containable hook then the rest of the song often doesn't matter in pop now. The bridge/middle 8 is pretty much dead! A lot of music is definitely tailored for this kind of format and it's a shame. But what's your definition of 'a band that plays proper music', out of interest? Let's be frank, a lot of the time when people say 'proper music', what they really want to say is: "3-5 men playing guitars, making generic power chord rock music with self indulgent solos" lol. Most of the newer groups I think are genuinely interesting lean more towards jazz, funk, experimental genres etc. rather than any 'rock' / 'metal' subgenre. The other reality is, radio is mostly crap, and so is the music press. It mostly all either caters to children, or older people who only want to yearn for yesteryear. (Mojo, Q for example do this mostly). Anything cutting edge or genuinely interesting is probably not going to be in print. I can't think of a single artist I love these days I've found through print. I have a degree in Music Journalism and it's a shame that the industry is pretty much dead.
  3. Thanks for the replies. I'll probably just stick to using 2 different DI's to keep things simple.
  4. Might grab this, will see what funds are like after Payday weekend 🤞
  5. So I had an idea, just wondering if anyone knows if it'll work as expected... I'm considering running a stereo DI box to send 2 Mono signals - 1 Dry signal at the start of my chain, 1 Wet signal at the end of my chain. The reasoning is that it would be more convenient than having 2 separate DIs. DIs like the Walrus Canvas have 2 Thrus, so this might be possible... Planned signal chain: Tuner > DI Left In (DRY XLR out) > Out of Left Thru > other pedals > back to DI Right In (WET XLR out) > Out of Right Thru > amp. Let me know if you have any thoughts/if you do something similar! Fairly certain this should work as I'm imagining, but not sure how to really test.
  6. Makes sense, hear that's the case for a lot of fuzzes. Though the only person I've seen running a Diabolik (Dishan Abrahams) on their board had it last (see switcher)!
  7. Thanks for the feedback! Makes sense to me, my main concern with the Diabolik was to do with the lack of control available. Apart from the Squish, there isn't much you can do to tweak. The Amptweaker seems to offer a lot more flexibility in a similar footprint. The EHX Sovtek Deluxe big muff looks decent, just a bit big for my current setup unfortunately!
  8. Looking for a new fuzz and currently the Malekko Diabolik and Amptweaker TightFuzz Bass Jr are currently likely contenders. Any opinions on how they compare/contrast? Cheers!
  9. I'll look into that later on, thanks for the tip. In the end I just manually uploaded all 99 😭 From now on I might just upload 1 patch at a time to be safe. If I try all 99 and it glitches again, I'll be back to square one.
  10. Problem still persisting even after resetting firmware sigh... Uninstalled the Editor/Manager and reinstalled. Still happening. I can however upload patches successfully 1 at a time... So I am not sure what's causing it to bug out when I try to upload the full 99.
  11. I tried both. I originally tried uploading all patches, then highlighted all 99 and tried that. Same issue happened. No patches have those symbols, the only changes I made to the 99 in manager was add the original 9 DI Emulations from the Directory, so they should not be causing any issues. I am uploading via manager yes. I am uploading from the tiles, which are saved in a folder on my desktop. (I make backups whenever I make any big changes. Both cables are input. I was successfully able to upload files as normal until I added some patches from the Directory. Now I cannot successfully upload from Manager at all, regardless of patches. Maybe it's time for another factory reset 😒
  12. Hey When trying to 'Upload to FI', it's skipping from patch 1 to patch 22, then works down the column, 32, 42, 52, and errors once it reaches 92. Most of the patches are there in the pedal, but not in the right order.. Very strange. I thought it must be the new patches I was trying to upload, so I loaded up a batch of backup patches that were uploading fine this morning, but the same issue is happening. Seen this issue before @Quatschmacher? Cheers
  13. Damn if only this was posted a few days ago before I made another big purchase! 😭 Been waiting for notification on when Shiftline will be able to ship more but not looking good at the moment. Hopefully can get hold of one of these in the future
  14. Yes to be honest. I've got 1x10 combos/tried 1x10 cabs, too boxy, not deep enough. I had a 4x10 but it just took up too much space and was overkill. I got hold of a very reasonably priced Ashdown 2x10 yesterday and it gives me a pretty close representation of what I can hear from the DI of amp, which is exactly what I wanted. My 1x10 doesn't manage this at all unfortunately and gives a totally different sound. I can also quite easily use this rig for smaller gigs too, but it perfectly fits under my desk (upright) so if it never leaves the house that's also fine! Thanks for the reply!
  15. Just read that they come in random colours and you can't pick, that's quite funny (also bit disappointing)
  16. Makes sense, that's what they suggest as a good starting point on their FAQs. Might have to give one a try, sounds like a very useful bit of kit. Thanks for the tip
  17. Nice, where are you using that in your chain? Reading the FAQ's on their site now.
  18. @Merton thanks very much! I'll have a look
  19. <£300 if possible, Thanks for the info, it will be played at low-ish bedroom volumes so maybe I won't need something with a rating to match then
  20. I'm running my Ashdown EvoII 500 as my recording head on my desk at home I sold my 4x10 recently and would like to replace it with a 2x10 that could go under my desk, solely for practicing really. The amp is rated at: 500w RMS/1000w peak, 4ohms on speaker outs. Any suggestions for a good 2x10 cab to match? Had a little look around and I'm not seeing many options above around 350w. EDIT: I picked up a very reasonably priced Ashdown 2x10 cab yesterday, it does exactly what I wanted it to! Thanks for all the tips and responses
  21. @krispn Ah I totally forgot I put out a 'wanted' post, thanks mate! This one sold before I had the funds unfortunately
  22. Good old Chocs, great power supplies
  23. He's great but doesn't get a ton of views and hasn't done a review in a while now, hope he makes more soon
