  1. The Sherlocks atvthe jolly brewer in Lincoln. My daughter introduced me to them and is a huge fan. i have to say, great band, really strong songs, and a great way with the fans. They come off stage after playing and chat with people which means a huge amount to young fans like my daughter. saw them at rock city and have to say it was a surprise to see what I think of as a big band in such a small venue. Loved it though.
  2. Played there many times and it’s a shame it’s closing. We’re losing too many music venues as they just can’t make it work.
  3. Took my 15 year old daughter to a gig at rock city Nottingham last weekend. She suffers from Cystic Fibrosis so as a treat id arranges with their manager for her to go to soundcheck and meet the band. they were great. Friendly and chatty with her. She’s made each of them a bracelet and they wore them for the actual gig. Then after they were meeting fans, signing stuff, and recognised and said hi to my daughter. I find it rare that bands are that accessible to fans. It really made her day.
  4. Just bought an Ibanez bass from Sean (to be loaned to my daughter but I think it might be one of those permanent loans…) great guy to deal with, we arranged a pick up, really nice chap to chat to (felt bad I had to rush off) and the bass is perfect.
  5. I guess I’m lucky this hasn’t happened sooner but after 20 years of gigging I’ve had the first instance of stuff being nicked. carting things into a venue you tend to leave cars/vans open until you’re all in, then lock them up. We did that and I dropped a half empty gig bag in the back of the van. come to get it after finishing and no sign (along with an empty guitar case and a monitor speaker). luckily only spare cables, mics, stands, that kind of thing but still annoying! And a lesson to be extra careful.
  6. Just bought a Gretsch bass from Lee. It arrived promptly, really well packaged and is is perfect condition. Really happy with it
  7. Bought a jaguar bass and it arrived quickly, really well packaged and the bass is in perfect condition. Really happy
  8. Hi, is the Gretsch the walnut which looks a bit wine red? It looks black in the picture
  9. Just under 4kg I think (just weighed it)
  10. Sorry just sold this weekend
  11. First proper use and it was great. Gig was at a festival so bigger stage and proper sound set up. If I’m honest with all the noise, using the provided amp, not the best monitoring, and me wearing earplugs it was a bit hard to tell how everything sounded but it was solid, sounded fine, and I enjoyed the freedom to not trip over cables.
  12. Shure arrived today so had a brief play. looks and feels sturdy. Receiver pedal dead easy to add to my pedalboard. The sync with the transmitter pack was instand and really simple. playing at home it sounds great. No latency, sounds the same as a cable. I have a gig on sat so will try it out in anger then
  13. Yep still available. A bit of interest but nothing definite yet
  14. Thanks guys! I didn’t need any more kit but my guitarist mentioned he was thinking of getting one of these, I liked the idea and I’ve just ordered the shure one! Your fault!
