I know Foxton used to use a Ric but I suspect that was more to do with the symmetry with Wellers Ric rather than the sound, he soon went onto Precisions, did he always record with them?
No Bruce used P Basses, Epi semis & still used the Rickys sometimes on the Albums. (Sometimes used flats & Black Nylon string too) sometimes over dubbing two of them. He may have used His Aria Pro 2 on the last Jam Album (have a listen)

Just because a producer is narrow minded and would rather I use a P bass so they can go and smoke a joint doesn’t mean I’m going to pander to them!!

Can't deny how great a Yammy BB P or P/J is. @AndyTravis anyone? 😄
But they are not "better" than a J bass, just deliciously different. It's great to have a choice.
Scott is indirectly implying that P basses are the better bass and as an "influencer" that's not supportable: it might well be better for some - but that's as far as it goes.
Exactly, probably a lot better put than I did.
P basses are great I have a couple (more using the generic PU/position analogy used earlier). But the implication in that video was totally wrong.
Plus any decent producer or engineer should be able to record any working bass!?

I believe Scott's brother, Barry Devine, has a Youtube channel which is aimed at builders. In an hour-long special, he covers "Why do a lot of builders use a Ford Transit" with an interesting 12 minute monologue by a roofer who presents an alternate view and owns a Renault Trafic. Also he has a 15-part mini-series on the premium channel, on different types of sand.
😂🤣

What a load of trendy wendy poppycock. Find Your own sound if that's 80's or 90's so be it. I am sure that Scott guy is making plenty of money spouting this PARC.

I suppose the string changing is OK - but that's not really 'playing' bass is it!? 😃😄😎
LOL
Other gauges of DBE string are available & can be used in any style 😀

To cover for My Eden WT405 (in the same position as You) & WT1205 (which is just too big and heavy to use really) I use an Eden WTDI in front of various amps (Ashdown. EBS, Trace Elliot Elf) to get the Eden magic. I wanted to try the new Eden Module pre-amp but they don't seem to be actually available.
Yes second hand WT are available but still old & we have that already!

Has any one got or tried an Eden Module pre amp thingie ? Any know where to get one? they seem to have been available for more than a Year & are advertised on the Marshall website, however I can't find anywhere that sell them. In fact no one seems to have much new Eden stuff for sale at all!!

You would of thought that by now someone would of released a programme that can convert the HD500 patches one has spent so much time creating to Helix format?
It's a deal breaker for Me!!

Glen Matlock used flats for the Pistols stuff (Rotosound 77s) & the Guy out The Cure in the early days. Palm Muted Black Nylons sound good too.

No to parody The Proclaimers "Status Flats (and halfs) NO MORE" Not sure there are any DBE 6 string flats around atm
These look lovely basses & look small & light for a 6

I bought a black Jaydee Supernatural from there in the very late 80s, a bass I sorely regret selling.
I went there in the early 90's to try an Alembic Stanley Clarke (only place in the country that had one), I had a Jaydee Supernatural at the time & thought the Alembic would be an upgrade. Got to test the SC against a Jaydee roadie they had in & the Jaydee was IMHO much better!!! Whilst there I tried a Graphite neck Vigier that had just the sound I wanted at the time but it was fretless, they didn't have a Status in at the time but I got to try one later in Birmingham & fell in love!!
Great shop, great staff very helpful & just let you try stuff. Those were the days!! Wouldn't of had the chance to compare & find out without them.
Still got My Jaydee & still play Status to this Day

Can You clamp flatwounds to the clamps? Most flats say don't wrap the none silk bit around tuning pegs, but I recently read an add for a headless that had flats & I know You used to like them.
Also Do you know the actual weight?

It is actually a Charles Mingus tune Jeff covered
