  1. Hi folks Here's a really great through-neck fretless, I believe made in Japan. (see thread here) Very playable 2 octave neck, really great mwah and punch - the output from the pickups and 2-band active preamp is louder than any of my other basses, and it's fat and punchy! No idea what the woods are. Finish is matt/satin. Body is a sandwich of 3 woods, looks like some kind of mahogany in the middle with facings of slightly flamed/birdseye something. The neck is straight and the truss rod works fine. Currently strung with Ken Smith half-rounds. I bought this to have a tinker during lockdown and never got around to it, and it's time to thin the herd and give someone else the opportunity to have fun on it. Happy to ship in a well padded box at buyer's expense or can arrange meet up somewhere between Cambridge and London, other locations possible if I move around the country! Now the pictures!
  2. Still here... open to sensible offers and can meet up in London-Cambridge axis
  3. You guys are goooood! The space out pickup placement caught my eye...will definitely keep an eye out in case there's ever a chance to try one. Thank you! Tom
  4. Hello chaps and chapesses Stumbled on this great pic of Skunk Baxter doing his bit for Movember... Anyone know what bass he's playing?? Cheers Tom
  5. Gorgeous!!! I'd forgotten about the anti-slap device on these 😄
  6. Gorgeous beast in almost mint condition. This is one of the most ergonomic and comfortable basses I've ever played, everything in the right place for fast articulation. Obviously it growls and mwahs with the best of 'em! The finish is satin varnish throughout, basically unmarked as far as my eyes can see. The fingerboard is in great shape, owing to the previous owner using flat wounds and I've been using half-wounds for the five or so years of my ownership. I'm selling as my 5-string fretless is getting all the play time and this deserves to be in the hands of someone who will use it regularly. Price is negotiable but I'm not looking for trades as needing to thin the herd! Any questions or tryouts welcome. Cheers
  7. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255515609714 This looks like a bit of a bargain for someone...
  8. The reference standard still available and currently retailing for £149. This one was mine from new, must be getting on for 20 years old but well cared for, little used and working perfectly. Can be mounted on the front of the bridge between the strings, or also fits in front of the f-hole for different sound balance. Any questions just holler! Thanks for looking.
  9. Hi folks Legend of an amp made in USA in 2005 in very clean condition and excellent working order. Tube preamp FET power amp with 300W into 8 ohms, 550W into 4 ohms, 750W into 2 ohms (minimum load). Balanced DI XLR out, Speakon and 6.5mm jack speaker outputs. Rack mountable but I don't have the original wings. Super quiet fan inaudible in most settings. Looking for £400 plus delivery/collection but will listen to reasonable offers. Cheers

  11. Hi folks Two genuine Musicman pick guards to go here to make space. Both in great condition and came from basses that I own so confident they are genuine. White/black/white satin finish, from 2001 Stingray. Pearlescent white/black white from 2003 Stingray. £30 each plus P+P. If you have a black-white-black to swap that would be even better! Cheers Tom
  12. Very playable and lightweight little beastie with P-type pickup and decent sized control cavity should you wish to mod. Bought a while back to use as a travel bass - I took the neck off, put metal inserts into the heel and so the neck is now fixed with M5 hex bolts so you can whip it off and fit everything into your suitcase. A few chips from previous owner as per photos, I've sanded the one on the upper body contour so it feels smooth while playing. Selling because I bought a bigger suitcase so I can do the same trick with a 34" scale bass 😁 Have a box ready for this one and can ship at buyer's cost or pickup from Cambridge-London area. SOLD IN 6 minutes! Is that a BC record?
  13. Thanks everyone for the interest - now sold subject to collection.
  14. This is a medium scale beastie very light and easy to play, with great passive pickups (controls are vol vol tone). I've had this for a few years to use as a travel bass but... guess what no travel! So moving it along to make space. The body is peppered with small dings as shown in the photos, but only really noticeable close up. The neck and fingerboard are unmarked so playing is very comfortable. Fits in a standard electric guitar gig bag! As usual questions and offers welcome but no trades please as I need to make space. Apparently Nathan East is very fond of his 🙂
  15. Lovely lovely bass looking for a good home. Open to sensible offers and come round for a play if you're curious!
