I was going to start a new thread, but this seems like the best place for my FRFR question.

So, I just purchased a QSC K10.2 to use with my Quad Cortex with the intention of going fully ampless.

I played at a small session with the QSC and found that it was really boomy despite setting a HPF on the QC. In hindsight I think that the problem was I accidentally left the the speaker in 'Bass Amp' mode from when I was trying it out at home and did not turn off the cab on the QC. But it raised the question: what setting do other QSC players use out there when they are using it as an FRFR set up?

    Thanks!

Doesn’t the QC have an amp built in? Cant really be ampless with an amp 😂

Thanks for this. I’ve ended up ordering a pair of ACS Evolve IEM’s in the hope that the custom fit cancels out the extra drivers of the KZ’s.

Even a different fit might do the job. I’ve had a nightmare with off the shelf IEM’s until i found the IE100’s. The fit was completely different to my previous ones and suddenly all the issue i had went away.

  3. I use a P2 for my IEM’s, fed from the headphone out with Monitor set to Aux5/6 for a stereo feed.

No issues with my IE400 Pros or previous IEM’s, but one thing i did notice is if i have the P2 clipped to my belt on the same side as my phone pocket, i do get a bit of noise. I thought it was a dodgy unit at first, but noticed it went away when my phone wasnt in my pocket.

  4. So i went with Setlist maker, and was really happy with it, but i found i couldn’t really get a layout i wanted. It’s easy enough to copy the text and put it in to Word or Pages etc, so not a big deal. I’ll only need to do this for those that want it printed out.

But…i have now gone over to Band Helper. Very much the same as far as what i want, but i can use it on all my devices.

I know this song :) I had to use it all the time, was quite good with it, but it always felt like it was a badly-designed tool.

Hope you get on with the set list software - if it works for you, then job done.

Cheers. I use it on a daily basis at work, just doing pricing and stuff, so i know it’s capable, but i don’t actually set it up myself so I’ve not delved too deep. Been using it for a good few years for set lists but to always seems to take longer than it should to do the most simple things. I’m find with design programs like InDesign, Illustrator etc, but the Microsoft stuff still catches me out.
i am blown away with what Setlist maker can do, and I’m sure I’ll make more use of its features.
A big plus is that once you have added a song to a set list it gets greyed out in the main list. I can’t believe the amount of times I’ve added a song twice or more to a list 🙄

Excel is going to be as easy and intuitive to use as anything; I'm not entirely certain what a 'proper app/program' (your words) is or what it's supposed to deliver.

The basic fundamentals of any program are going to be dragging/copying/cutting/pasting, if you can't handle these, then the way forward is going to be paper and a Sharpie.

Why say that? Thats just crap if you ask me. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean others can or even want to.

So the fact that i say i dont get on with it (i still use it) means, in your eyes, i need to use paper and pen?

    Please go away

No dragging up or down with the simple list I'm doing right now. Just put a '1' in the 'To Be Included' column and it's all ready. I'll post it here in a few minutes, if you want..?

Thanks but ive just purchased Setlist Maker for Mac. I know Excel is very powerful, but i also i know i hate it with a passion lol. I even prefer  Numbers to Excel. My wife is very good with Excel but i just think something more dedicate, that can also hold the song charts etc might be the way forward.

Excel will do what you describe easily enough, I'd say. Given a total list of all the songs, with a column to indicate that they be included or not in a filter, a total running time would be a simple 'Sum' of the individual time column. It sounds easy enough to me, at least. I can't think of any easier way to do it, nor specific 'set list' software. :rWNVV2D:

Thanks. Thats what i have at the moment, but i really don’t get on with Excel. I find it frustrating and get very annoyed with it (and myself).

I can get on with the dragging up and down etc, but it’s when im creating new lists that i really struggle with, and the fact that printing to PDF as A4 seems like near impossible. Ive spent a few years doing this and still find it frustrating.

  9. As above. I need to make up some set lists for the band, to be printed off.

Ive been struggling with Excel/Pages (and less so with Word), but i think it will be easier with a proper app/program.

The criteria is this. I want to enter all our songs, along with keys and length in to a main list/database. Then i want to be able to drag them around in to sets, and at all times i want to see the total running time of that set as i build it if that makes sense.

Not looking for a song book app as such, i wont be using it live, its just for organising the lists and seeing at a glance how long they are.

Would prefer Mac, but iOS is also fine. Ive seen Setlist maker on the Mac store and that seems ideal. Cheap as well.

    Thanks for any advice.

I've used the red one for guitar with great effect for a lot of years, but never with bass.

However, the eq curve is switchable IIRC

Yeah, it can be turned off, but i was wondering if it was worth getting for bass.
As it happens it’s irrelevant now, as i remembered i still have a BDI21, which will be perfect for the job.

  11. As far as i can see this is the same as the standard one, but with an EQ curve to simulate a guitar cab.
i need to get one or the other for our bass player, and can get the standard one a few £ cheaper, but i like the idea of the cab sim as this is for monitoring  and IEM use only.

Anyone use the Red one for bass?

Hi guys. Lots of stuff to consider. Appreciate everyone's input.

I suspect that the second hand router I've been using has suffered a bit from being used outside of its comfort zone for so long. It's designed to sit on a shelf after all

I'm looking at a travel router as it's more compact and more robust

The small GL.inet routers are really handy. As mentioned you can even run them off a phone charger or any USB port.

I have mine Velcro’d to the column of my keyboard stand. This gets it off the floor and keeps it elevated.

  13. Another Opal user here. Never once let me down and very convenient for being powered from many sources. I’ve even run it off a USB power bank as an experiment. Worked for the full 4 hour rehearsal we did, although I’d not want to do that at a gig unless i had to.

Im surprised at the other suggestions here being called high end or expensive. Sub £100 doesn’t seem to command those statements IME.
Not that my opinion counts, but I’ve never had much luck with TP-link routers. I have 3 faulty ones in a box from the past 6 years. I’d trust them if i had to, but wouldn’t buy another.

    Hey guys need help...

I want to buy better ear tips from my kz zs10 pro x, just can find what is the inside diameter... which ones to buy? Any pointers? I want a foam ones not the silicone

Look back in this thread (or use the search). Many of us have gone for better tips like Comply or the cheaper brands for the KZ’s.

I don't think you can reliably measure. With tips, fit is so changeable, I think it's just a case of buying a load and trying them to see which works best for you.

For example, if you see yourself as a M in one brand, you may get better results with a S in another (due to lying and sealing deeper in the ear).

I think he means the stem size, as in how they fit to the IEM.

  16. ‘A higher level’? What on earth does that mean?

Are we to assume all bands that use these will instantly play better somehow, even if using top end gear already which i assume bands like MC are already doing.
That quote makes the whole thing a bit cheesy for me, i will not be equipping the band with them now 😂
