Do you mean it runs off USB C?

Yeah. The iphone or ipad powers it. No need to hook the PSU up. Both my latest devices have USB-C.  It even runs off a power bank, although ive not tested it fully like this.

  2. Mine turned up today. Very happy with it so far, but i haven’t plugged a bass in yet. Im really pleased it runs off bus power, works perfectly with my phone. The app might get more use that i first thought, at least for setting things up.

I like the fact that with the B2 Four, having 5 slots on each patch and the three footswitches, I can get everything I want on one patch! 😅

Yeah. That’s the attraction for me. BDDI on all the time and add others to taste as and when the song needs it.
I might create a separate patch for just one song. I normally use a 5 string as it needs low B and C#. Thinking I’ll just add the octave below in with the pedal and play higher.

  4. Just wanted to mention, this thread is the first time ive ever heard of Djent. I had to go and look it up. Even then it took me a few mins to figure out that it's a genre and not a brand lol.

  5. I’ll need to dig my old B1-Four out as i have a nice generic tone with just the right amount of drive programmed in for the type of songs I’m doing.
I can’t remember what i was using for OD, but it wasn’t from an amp sim. I remember at one stage i was using various BDDI’s and switching between them. I’ll probably not do that this time.

Awesome! Hope you like it. I had a wobble last week, but it is a really good unit TBF. A good middle ground between quality of sounds, flexibility and ease of operation I think. 👌

Cheers. Im still 50/50 whether i really need it, but as it’s cheaper than the BDDI i would have ended up getting, and covers my other need for an interface that works with my ipad for home practice (covered in another thread) it seems a reasonable price to pay.

This is the MS-60B+ thread, the clue's in the title 😁

I'm planning on getting the MS-60B+ (as you were on Sunday evening apparently?) which is basically a cut down B2-4, in stomp box size, which will be easy to incorporate as part of a pedal board but maybe with a little midi pedal for live use.

No, i know what thread im in, but i was taking about getting B2 instead of the MS60+ in one post, and i got replies from that post.

The MS60+ seemed attractive at first, but for not a lot more the B2 offers more foot switches. If the  B1 four had another foot switch I’d probably keep with that.

im not incorporating it with anything else, so this will just be my only source of silly noises and self indulgence lol.

Yeah, similarly I guess I'm just going to have to get adept at editing on the pedal itself and, fingers crossed it won't be too painful!

I'm hopeful that this is going to be a decent step up in processing power/sound quality from my B1-4. I do love the compact form factor and combining with a little midi pedal may further enhance its live use.

I’ve lost track of all these threads and who’s getting what.  So you are getting the B2-four as well?

Spec wise I’d much prefer the new Boss one that came out recently, i especially like the battery option, but it looks bigger than i really want. It needs to fit in the front pocket of my gig bag.

As long as you've got iOS to program it with, or be prepared to spend hours knob twiddling.

Always prefer to get to know the unit as much as i can, so not interested in the software side that much. Never used it with Helix or other Xoom products.
I’ve always needed to tweak things at gigs so need to know how and do it quickly. I wouldn’t bother with any app in a live situation.
I’m pretty quick at picking these things up. I’d be up and running quickly as my needs aren’t too much, plus i already know what i need. Just a few effects with a BDDI running before them.

That's AB though, not class d.

To be fair, they're proper loud. I havent had mine past half way in 2 loud bands at both practice and gigging. But yes, from a marketing point of view I found that a weird decision too.

Yeah, but it does seem quite low for a gigging combo.

  12. Thinking of order one of these next week. Im ok with the software being iOS as id probably use my ipad more than my Mac anyway.

Ive looked at a couple of the support documents but cant see if the unit still needs a PSU or if it runs off bus power from the ipad. Im guessing it needs a PSU as well though?

According to some websites that have it for sale its 500w peak, so 250w RMS into 4ohm. 125w RMS into 8ohm.

Might be worth someone checking as it does seem a bit mad to release a way underpowered class d head?

You are correct, that is what it says on the Boss website. I guess it gets confusing when other figures not on the spec list are quoted.

I'm still a bit confused about this head.

In principal it's an astounding head. Everything you could want (apart from a tuner - doh!), but I can't for the life of me understand a 180-250w class d head, and I can't understand less features than the combo. And more so why it's double the price?

Couldn't you just buy a combo and take the head out of that? More features, class ab power and half the price?

My thinking is always that they did their market research and designed for that rather than to please everyone. Isn't it 500watt - 250watt though?

It does seem a bit strange that it costs more than the combo though.

  15. I had that Levy's bag (got it iwth an HW-1 bass) and loved it. Never had any damaged to my basses in it, and when wearing it on just one shoulder the headstock sat that the same height as my head. This allowed melt also wear a rucksack in the proper way.

Ive never managed to get another bag like it.

Im now resigned to using a ‘better’ bag and use both straps, but have had a hard time finding one that sits low. I really wanted a Mono but those sit high, i recently got a Fender and that sits even higher. Turns out the best for me is an old Sire bag ive had for a few years.

  16. I think I’ll get this. Coming back to bass i realised i sold off my BDDI. I like that the 60B+ has a BDDI with more Mid freq’s selectable. Even more than the real thing. If i only use it for this its still over £100 cheaper. I do stil have my original 60B, and a B1 Four, which ill use until i can get the 60B+
