1. Fleetwood Mac recently at the Hydro. Note perfect, supremely professional, all the right notes in the right order - but it felt a little soulless.....
 2.
Good shout wanted one for a while, took this bargain to tip the scale..... Ordered one on Mrs wonky so ammazon account..... I'll go and hide out in the shed for a while now
Maybe you could bring a seat in for me too. I transferred £830 to a fellow BC'er to pay for a bass and the bank locked the transfer due to it being flagged up as potential fraud. Long story short I had to put the wife on the phone to confirm our details (joint account you see) - but she didn't know about the bass purchase! - and you can imagine the daggers I was getting as she spoke to the bank. I tried to explain that £730 would be getting paid in from a recent sale, but she had stopped listening by that point. I'll probably now need to decorate half the house to get back in the good books - and I won't have the bottle to play the bass when she is in! I've got the life of a dog!

 4. Folks I'm seriously considering swapping out the 34" neck on my Corvette and having a luthier make me a replacement 30" neck. Who would you recommend as the best person for the job (quality and price wise)? Cheers, David

 6. Thanks Gents I'm veering towards Gotoh bridge, Hipshot tuners, new nut and then a professional set up and strings. Still not sure about the pickup though..... I was going to consider living with it for a while - but I want the best sound I can from the off. Got no patience I'm afraid!
 7.
Buy a WAL instead
No thanks. I'll stick with the Cort Junior. I'll probably have less issues with the neck!
 8. Yep - I ike the Gotoh bridges. Exactly the robust nicely machined high mass bridge I'd go for.
 9.
New pickups and a John East preamp would be like adding a turbo charger - they would cost more than the bass though and it's unlikely that you'd ever recoup your money if you ever sold it. Sometimes upgrading doesn't make (financial) sense.
I know - but I am thinking about the end product and not the resale value. I don't have a king's ransom to spend on it, perhaps another £200.
 10. Considered a Warwick Corvette short scale active at £510 - even though I don't like the body shape - then thought "Hold it. Go with what you already like and make it better." I happen to love the shape and look of the Cort Action Junior 30" short scale (reminds me of an Overwater from a distance), and at £156 from Amazon I had the foundation of a good instrument. I intend to take it to a good local luthier, but would appreciate some direction as to what I should be going for. So - the question is "What would you do by way of improvements, pickups, strings, bridge and what not?" What would you do to take this guitar to another level? 12.
It is a great price, and for those who wonder, this is a 2009 model and as such the neck will be back in its slim form after the [mostly] baseball bats from the previous 9 years
Yep - superslim neck. Thinnest I have ever seen, which made all the difference to my left wrist. The reach required for 34" is the killer for me though. Cheers, David
 13.
Cant be bothered to read all this thread, but I found it intersting that .What a drummer this guy isnt' has 200 more views than 'What a drummer this guy is' even though they started within an hour of each other.
Perhaps people are drawn towards things that sound like a bit of a car crash?
 14.
Best not look at this photo then:
Holy Mother of God! Would you need to be earth wired to play it safely?
 15.
I thought it needed more cowbell.
Laughed so hard I needed to change my underwear!
