  2. the roland pk5 is the best as you have complete control live over octave, prog change and even midi channel, they are built the best also, sting uses a set for synth sounds along with a set of taurus, i use a set with moog minitaur just awesome, i have owned the original taurus , the sound is spot on.
  3. Fender Jazz Bass American standard 3 tone sunburst 2014 model,
  4. cheers merello
  5. cheers John never thought i would take to the cheyenne, but as you can hear it does the job just fine.
  6. Your E and A saddles are far too forward for correct intonation on a ric , the saddles also look squint have you checked underneath to see what is going on!!! the most important thing is to get the strings lining up with the poles on the pickups, or the bass will not sound right. i have attached a pic of my 3 Rickenbacker's, if you look the saddles are in the most part in the same position.

    Feedback for Aero71

Marinus purchased a bass from me a very nice chap, we had a good chat on the phone, 100% trust worthy paid me straight away once we agreed a price, do not hesitate to deal with marinus, my delivery took 3 days to the netherlands via parcelforce.
  15. i have used parcelforce several times and never had an issue, just do your best to pack the bass as best you can in the case so it wont move around in the case !! and then bubble wrap the case before boxing it up. and remember to loosen the strings so there is less tension on the neck for transit.
  16. keep the original bridge paul your bass is intonated and spot on no need to change it.
  17. Paul, you have to find the right 4001 most of these basses sound good!! there is a tone present in the 4001 you just don't get on a 4003, i have played rics for 38 years the 4003 is a nice bass, but if you want the original kind of Geddy lee and Chris squire tone you will only get that from the 4001. the 4003 is more hit and miss, the one you have is one of the good ones !!!
  18. Just imported a vintage Rickenbacker 4001 bass 1977. took 11 days all in, took a couple of days at customs in uk, i was charged for vat and parcelforce fee no import duty at all.
  19. thanks guys, the cap bypass has been done letting the bridge pickup sound the way it should. it has a long pole toaster in the neck position too. huge sounding bass with lots of ric tone, and very skinny neck.
  20. 2 screws, underneath the pickup mount, loosen them slightly, turn the pickup slowly to straighten it, tighten screws job done. Geo
  21. Just took delivery of my first 4001 in 30 years, she was imported from nashville usa, hard to believe this bass is 37 years old !! in almost mint condition, it is stunning to look at and plays wonderfully. it came with the original hard shell case with a blue velvet you just don't see any more. i also own two 4003's, i have to say though the original tone is with the 4001 you just cannot beat it, there is a tone there that is not present on the 4003 !! these are not cheap basses either valued at around £2000.
  22. Mike purchased a USA Jazz bass from me. payment was made straight to my bank acc no problems we have had great communication throughout, and i am very happy mike loves the bass, happy days. deal with mike in total confidence , this is the way bass chat should be and is.
