1. Hotcovers have always done me well and they are super quick with custom orders
2. rmcki - The strings are 2 weeks old and I'm not a sweater, so they are still good. It doesn't have a passive mode. HowieBass - Medium action and no note chokes anywhere. Thats why I didn't want to bring the pickup too much. Could it be a faulty pickup that was never replaced?
3. As per title, long shot but anybody interested, it is the Italian made MK1. http://www.gak.co.uk...CFVDKtAodY3UA_A
4. I can try but as you say any higher it will start to distort, at the minute I'm not using compression so that could be an option. I would hat to start getting into mixed strings so hope that would be it, I use 45-130 nickel on steel round wounds
5. Thanks Bluejay I should have mentioned it is set to the extreme at the minute with the B side all the way down and the G side 2-3mm from the string I'm a percussive player with my finger so don't want it too close as I hate unwanted thumps for hitting the strings
6. So I recently purchased my first Semi expensive bass and I love it,thought fkin heavy. It's is a 99 FNA 5 string with the AEC pickup and preamp, however the B, E, A are loud and clear but the D and G are substantially quieter to the point where in a band situation the G is not existent. Would a compressor pedal sort this out? Would replacing the pickup to the Seymour Duncan be worth a go? And would it wire into the existing preamp? I use a Markbass CMD121H and set everything with decent mids, no scooping going on. Any advise would be great, I don't want to fall out of love with my new bass!!
7. Ok great, I may just buy the cab, sitting on top doesn't bother me too much. Yea I'm iPhone
8.
NY121 is 4" or so shallower than the 121H so it won't really work underneath it. However it's exactly the same width so the top front plastic cab protectors will interlock perfectly. From the front people won't see the difference in depth So it'll just look like a 2x12 rig. You might want to cut the piezo in the NY as the horn in the 121H is higher quality and sounds nicer. Only real downside I can think of is that your amp control is in the 'middle' of the rig rather than on top. We haven't had this set up in the shop but we have tested a 121P combo on top of a 121H cab (which is more or less the same thing) and it works really well as a complete rig. If you're anywhere near us we should be able to get an NY121 for you to try with your combo at decent volume to see how it sounds
Thanks, are you a shop? If so shich one and whereabouts?
9. I'd prefer the NY121 but I'm paranoid that it won't sit underneathd the combo depth wise, would if no ok sitting on top?
10. I want a cab to easy the load on the single 12" speaker, I'm thinking either a traveller 210 or the NY112 cab. I'm using either a 5 string warwick or 4 string precisions Is there anybody that has been in this same situation or does anybody have any advice/opinions Mike
11. Hi Is the truss rod lose or just won't tighten anymore? Mike

14. Hi Zak thank you for your interest but I've just got a Markbass combo so no need for an amp, any basses?
15. would be interested in a trade for a Marshall 4x12 or a guitar amp head, but try me with anything else music related
16. I'm near High Wycombe. Sorry not after a baritone, thanks though
17. Thanks @miles'tone it is a serious bass for the money just doesn't get used The B is good, it's set up with a fairly low action with a slight amount of acoustic buzz but none when plugged in, if your local your welcome to try it
18. Owned from new and well gigged. The Backline head is 300W (4ohm) but with this cab runs 180W (8ohm) but with it pushes like a 500W, it has a chip on the top and the power button fell off so haveto stick a jack in to turn on. The cab has a blown tweeter (which I never bothered replacing, you can but the for £10 and they suck) and the original 200W naff speakers were replaced by me and changed for Eminence Deltas that take 700W without breaking a sweat so it'll take whatever you put at it, hence the screws on the top and two on the back to stop the port rattling against the inside of the cab. This is a serious gigging amp, only selling due to buying a Markbass setup. No shipping sorry. http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/mikeoranage/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-07/1758265E-1752-46FD-9450-00517969FE9B_zpsl3cpk8zv.jpg http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/mikeoranage/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-07/354AD177-1F2F-4156-ABC7-DCD690141640_zpsvzx8ovdu.jpg http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/mikeoranage/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-07/D51BA88F-62ED-4518-8B41-38BCECE34057_zpsn4x0gpmj.jpg http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/mikeoranage/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-07/7C4A80CD-F521-46F2-982B-7F62E0A36012_zpswyeh65kj.jpg
