Update cafter a couple of shows the Arry is staying for sure. Awesome bass, awesome tome and awesome neck. It's Fat wth a capital F. It needs to go on a vegan diet however, but I'm getting used to it. Great basses though.

I've always liked the Maiden albums none of the fanbase ever liked! (Virtual XI and X Factor)
-
I might actually sell one of my VM's to fund these...
Any chance you've tried a VM Jazz? Just was hoping someone could compare the two for me! -

I just preferred the sound of the Foundation cab vs the CL when I heard them earlier this year.
I had a CTM100 and stupidly sold it, best amp I've ever had. Currently running a CTM30 or RM800 which are both ace though so can't complain too much
Awesome. I'll look into the cabs a bit more then.
Going OT but how does the 100 compare to the 300? -

Sound is hugely subjective so what's 'best' for one person may be completely wrong for someone else... There is a difference in sound of standard ABM vs ABM Foundation in that we hear deeper bass and more definition on the top end but again it depends on the player, the amp, the bass used etc etc. With the Foundation range you are paying for the absolute best we have ever made and the reliability, consistent performance and longevity that comes with that fact. Saying this probably 90% of our artists actually use regular ABM cabs so one of those would also be more than up to the job with a CTM 100...
Interesting. Yeah, good point on the sound.
I'm looking for something with a good old bottom end thump, but with a lot of definition, articulation and that mid range with a P-Bass. -

Well the CL cab on eBay was designed for the valve series but if it were me and I could afford it I'd go for a Foundation 410
Why's that? Didn't you own a CTM 100 at one time (I swear I came across your thread when obsessively googling it) -

Hence why i 'think' they are the first ever cabs from any company ever to have a LIFETIME warranty for both the cabinet and speakers, if you manage to blow a speaker in 10 years time or whenever we will replace it free of charge, the speakers really are that good.
Oh they do look lovely.
What's the difference in sound between the cabs? What would fit best with the CTM 100? -

smashing we're a fair bit less heavy and more southern rock than your band but if you need a support we'll happily come on up sometime
We've played with all sorts. Got supported by a folk act the other night! Was a weird gig, but a good un! -

There's also a Classic Line 410 on eBay right now, £350. Big heavy bugger but has Eminence rather than Sica speakers
Yeah I just spotted it. Might put a cheeky bid on it if I can offload some gear first! -

Barefaced will be releasing a Retro Four10 soon I believe.
As for the Ashdown cabs - the ABM Foundation range is UK built with apparently different spec Sica speakers and a lifetime warranty. The Chinese ABM range are the old ABM cabs with 5 year warranty and older spec Sica speakers.
Ashdown also have the Neo410 which is worth a look
Hope that helps
Interesting. So the Barefaced may weigh next to nothing then.
Was wanting to get an Ashdown cab to complete the set mainly! Was just curious about the differences, as there's a Chinese made 810 up on one of the EU sites right now, but the Chinese 410 are the same price. So was just curious! Cheers Merton. -

We're trying to sort out a show at the Schooner in Gateshead for next year sometime, you're most welcome to come and meet it
Find us on facebook (link in my sig) and keep an eye out for gig announcements up your way

I will do! -

she's glorious! You can't quite see from the pic of the front but both pre and master are set to about 10 o'clock...fills the room with lush bass and makes fixtures, fittings and fillings rattle
The AD200b just makes my old p basses with flats and my old Guild B-302 sound perfect, rich, full and fruity sounding with plenty of depth but without being flappy. Those orange cabs are darn good for a 1x15 too!
Oh lovely! How does it sound compared to a Bass Terror if you've ever tried one of those? Was wanting one of these at somepoint, but... The differences in wattage make my choice a bit tricky. -
Seeing that made me have a slight loose bowel movement. Looks earthquakingly loud. How does the AD200B sound? Been wanting one of those for a while now.

Hey guys, so I'm looking to go big with my CTM 100. However car space, stage space, house space and my back are an issue. However, I was wanting something for home use whilst I used the Barefaced stuff for gigging. I was fancying a 4X10 (Barefaced don't make on of those sadly) and I spotted some of the Ashdown ABM cabs. However the more expensive ones are made in the UK and the other ones I think are Far Eastern made. I can't seem to find any difference aside from the location of being made. Are the speakers different and such? and are the UK cabs worth the price tag?
-
Surprisingly good. Two support bands dropped out and it was us and an acoustic act. Who brought a good crowd, our drummer has friends (Shock horror) and they enjoyed it too. We had fun on stage, which is a plus and my Ashdown and Barefaced sounded great. Pretty good stage sound, not overbearing like my Orange is.
Also got a video too. It's a shame it's from a small condenser microphone. But hopefully it'll get what we do across.

Looks lovely. You've made me very tempted, but I need a new super compact first!
-
Would you be happy with posting to Newcastle? Will have to check fundage first though (And then try to get it past my rents...)
-
Hey guys, curious about something. I've never been in a function band before and I was looking at them. Is there a general rate of pay for them or is it whatever the venues/owners decide to pay or do the bands set the rates themselves?
Was curious about auditioning for a few and seeing if the pay was worth it.
Thanks guys! -

If you can't lift it it doesn't matter how good it sounds. Don't torment yourself.
I believe Ashdown valve amps sound pretty good with Barefaced cabs. . . and there's always a Retro410, 610 or 810.
They do indeed, I love mine with my Supercompact. -
Lovely basses, jamming on mine right now.
The V Jazz is also very nice, I'm guessing you've got one of those too? -
Taken it to a four hour bass lesson and on public transport, plus it's cold compared to my house.
Will give a report back about noonish with a video this evening once I get my camera out! -

The NM has a different shaped neck from a standard P bass, I think its a "slim C" shape? A much better fit for me.
Does it? Cool, yeah the Harris has a U and feels very chunky compared to what I'm used too!
Will do a video on the bass tomorrow, as I'm shattered from a long day today! -
Cool bass. Nearly bought one but I liked the neck on the Nate Mendel better.
Why was that? Was that one much slimmer? -
Gassing for another cab. The Harley Benton 4X10 I use is pretty woeful.
Tested Steve Harris p bass Olympic white
