Badly setup / straight out of the box unsetup. Action like a cheesegrater, loose or uneven knobs.

    Thick necks.

Aside from thick necks, aren't all of those things you can sort?

Yeah Earache reissue for £16.50, and I did feel a pang of guilt knowing what a job Earache have done on them on this album... Still needed to buy it though.

Offtopic sorry, but I bought a Bolt Thrower reissue and heard that Earache weren't paying bands for the reissues. Any truth to this? Or am I hearing rumors?

You can get Rotosound Steve Harris signature flatwounds too.....

btw i like your CAR 5 string

P.S. i'll be changing mine to flatwounds soon

Yeah, heard about those, but the word is they go dead really quickly!

Also: The CAR fiver is a cracking little bass. Gonna be my work horse for sure when we get playing suspect places!

  4. I've just discovered I'm a P guy playing a gig. Got a 5 string VM P-Bass and that's not enough, getting a Mexican fender when I can though and going to add a Steve Harris pickup to it. SO I can have my own Arry model without the name.

What sort of strings do you guys like on your P basses?

Where's our gig report ? Was the after-party that good ?
Aha, apologies I've been wrecked all day due to being in London for two gigs a few days prior.

Truthfully it was pretty good, getting people up to sing Electric Eye with us and finding that non metal crowds can at least appreciate us, plus they were getting into it too. Including some of the older crowd (Think older than my dad!)

We've now got some pretty big things getting booked up because of this now and truthfully, it was completely worth it. People were saying we were easily the best band there also, including people who had came to see the other bands.

    Also: Photo's!

All of them here though! (For some reason they didn't come through, any reason why they wouldn't?)

Still slightly wrecked and can't really move my neck (Pain is going) so all the signs of a good night really!

  6. So, I don't know if anyone read my thread about last night, but I thought it would be awful. Tons of co-operation between the bands, made some friends and had a cute girl ask to stroke my beard. So it was a win all round.
We played to a pretty full room and half the crowd vanished for the headliners. Not sure if that's a sign, but we had people calling out for one more song.

Sometimes it makes the BS of organization and not having social media worth it.

We are now supporting Risen Prophecy and Ruler who are on a European tour.

I thought east endears was depressing. This doesn't bode well for a first gig . Tell them you're washing the cat that night
My dads coming out with you're being negative it'll be great.

A multigenred night does not go well and especially how we're a metal band.

It's going to be a night filled with nonsense. Usually I'm all for that, but I'm being serious tomorrow.

OR you could just say to yourself 'Not my cup of tea' and slip out and get a bag of chips. You might be up for a gig with the other bands in the future and it might not be best to be in 'that band with the mouthy bassist'

    Just a thought.
Yeah, that's true. To be fair I've been in worse positions, but I won't go there for reasons (In case my old bandmates are reading this :D)

E: That might be all of us then, we have a habit of saying what we really think!

Headlining is overrated anyway... everyone has usualy gone home by then.
Truth.

Isn't it gig curtosy to provide a drumkit however? There's no reason for me to loan out anything but arrangements are made and I can't do anything about it now

Yeah fingers crossed you have a better experience mate. Show the rest of the bands what metal is! :P
Just a shame we're not playing post avantgarde Swedish Vegetarian grindcore metal.

  11. Fair enough. Will report back after I come back from the gig. Not exactly overwhelmed with it to be honest.

Edit: Also forgot to mention it, I'd taken along my JCM 800 to use instead but was told not to use it because I was going to use the OBT.

Not sure what to make of this, thoughts?
