2. I saw this bass a month ago when i was sorting specs for my Rumor, and it is impossible to do this bass justice with photos, in the flesh that quilting is real 3D, and one of the most eye catching basses i've seen in a long time, i would love it on any bass i owned. It was the first time i'd seen the brushed ally hard ware and i thought it looked fantastic and suited the bass down to a tee. Got to give Bernie a ring to finalise everything in the next couple of weeks, should have done it already but i've been busy moving, work. baby etc.... Watch this space guys because this Rumors gonna be special!!!!
3. This great bass now has a new owner. Thanks for all your interest guys.
4.
I shouldn't ask but, what are the electronics and pickups in this, and what's the fingerboard?
It has the original pickups and Nick should be able to fill you in on the electronics as i think he had them overhauled. We discussed the fingerboard and concluded it was Massacar Ebony and it really is quite nicely figured.
5. I'm selling this beautiful Pangborn Warlord bass, i purchased it off Doctor bass a few months ago but i'm not a 34 scale man as all my other basses are 32 scale. It has a lovely feel to it, 1.5in nut, slim neck a joy to play and pretty rare these days. It has a Flame maple top and is in great condition and comes in a hard case, i'm looking for what i payed which is £1220 + £35 postage. cheers Dave
6.
I have this Kingbass Artist for sale, i bought it for my daughter, but she prefers the shorter neck scale. It is in A1 condition, has a 34 in scale and 16.5mm string spacing and comes with the hiscox case, it was bought from the Gallery a few months ago and it will only gather dust if left in my hands. postage will be about £35, would be prepared to travel for a meet i'm on the south coast. I'm looking for round the £900 mark but open to offers. thanks Dave
SOLD

My Basses

A couple of shots of my basses...... Alembic Sig deluxe Pangborn Warlord Mayones custom PI Fender Jazz fretless Status KB Status KB black beauty prototype.
9. Yeah that was a lovely bass, but i sold it on as the series 1 is a bit to big and bulky for me! That is why i have a series 3 on order. The Guy i bought it off had not played it in over 10 years, hence the condition and i only had it for four or five months. The Doctor nearly had this off me..... Mowac wheres the original red Jaydee supernatural embossed case i sold it in, hope you still have it and i'm glad to see you are enjoying the bass.
10.
Hey daveski, is that BB prototype the one that came with the authenticating letter from MK?
Yeah that's the one OTPJ, it has a letter from Mr Green and Mr King and was used live at the Circus Tavern by him.
11. Here is a couple of pics of my newly aquired Black Beauty prototype 23 (may 2003) i traded this bass with JD for a lovely S2 and a few quid his way. They are both cracking basses and i've enclosed a couple of picks of our get together, with our ensemble of equipment.
12. Cracking bass at a good price, would of snapped this up if i didn't already have an order in
13. What a cracking looking bass, you must be itching to get it gigging, love the quilt!
14. Could anyone please give me some advice on storing basses that are not regularly used. I have a couple of basses that i'm not using at the moment and was wondering if i should just pop them in their cases and shove them straight under the bed, should i ease the string tension a bit, store them vertically rather than horizontally? As this is the first time i have done this i really have no idea and any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks Dave
15. Yeah that would be great to see any photos, got any of Tals new Spitfire? She'll sound better if she's going to be using that now!
16. The Warlord is now at the Gallery undergoing a total overhaul to bring it up to scratch!
17. Just thought i would update the pics of Nick Smiths Warlord that we have now done a deal on, a good chat and car park meet later and the deal was done! A top bloke to deal with.
18.
I got the Bravewood today and all I can say is - WOW! What a great fretless it is! One of the best I've tried if not the best one. Extremely resonant wood and an exact replica of a 62 Jazz bass. Amazing craftmanship. It actually plays and sounds much better than my original 69 Jazz I sold recently. Can you imagine?!
I'm glad you like it Margus, it was a pleasure and the transaction so smooth, i'm made up with the S2 as well, everyones happy!
19. This Bravewood has now been traded for Margus's Status Series 2 and is winging it's way to Tallinn in Estonia, i'm sort of sad to see her go as she is a great bass, but please don't sob for me guys as i have a Fender Jaco tribute fretless which is also superb and will put a smile on my face from time to time. Thanks for all the interest and trade offers, much appreciated.
20. Last Bump £1350 or she's going back under the bed!
21.
that looks lovely. im definately gonna get myself a fretted bravewood soon, have you compared this to a real 60's jazz, how do you find the comparison in sound?
Unfortunately Fretless Bob i have never been able to do a back to back test, i would love to as i think this bass would hold it's own as she really does 'sing if you treat her right' !. As for getting a fretted one, i don't think anyone whos ever owned a Bravewood has been disappointed , you really should, they really are fantastic and if this was fretted i wouldn't be selling it, actually as i have have not had any interest maybe i should just get it fretted then it would get some use!
22.
Mine was finished around April 2007 so came in at the 2:1 rate (I didn't buy it until a year ago from the original purchaser) - still bl**dy expensive though. I must find the camera and charge it. Lovely basses in this thread - there really isn't anything that quite compares with an Alembic for me (aesthetically and tonally)
You are right lozbass they really are something else, real quality!
23.
I got mine in July '07 so had the 2 dollar rate good fortune. Makes a big difference.
Yeah very true, if i worked out the cost now i probably wouldn't even bother!
24.
Some lovely basses guys! Daveski - was that a custom order?
Yeah that was a custom order but when i paid for it last summer i was still getting 2 dollars to the pound so it was good value especially with all the discounts!
25. I'm selling this Bravewood Jazz bass, this was built for me in 2002 when Bravewood still took orders, i played it extensively for 3 years but for the last 4 it has had very few airings and i play fretless so rarely it's a waste to keep it. It's great to play and was based on Pastorius's jazz had he lived and played it for another 25 years. I know lots of people hate reliced basses, but i quite like them and when this was made i thought 'in for a penny' etc. I'm asking £900 for the bass, someone also told me Bravewood no longer takes orders so i don't know if these are even made anymore. cheers Dave
